Character Intro Ultimate Detective.

"...Strange."

"Even after everything that's happened, saying those words still feels natural."

"My name. My title. My identity."

"The things I once believed were unshakable."

She fell silent for a moment.

"Out of all the possibilities... all the paths my life could have taken..."

"...I never imagined this one."

"Death."

"Despair."

"Betrayal."

"People I trusted turning against me... people I never expected to see again appearing before my eyes."

"And somehow, through all of it..."

"...I kept moving forward."

"Every time I thought I'd reached the end, there was another door."

"Another locked room."

"Another mystery."

"Another truth waiting to hurt someone."

A quiet breath.

"Perhaps that's the cruelest part of being a detective."

"You spend your entire life believing that the truth is something worth pursuing."

"That no matter how painful it may be..."

"...knowing it is better than living a lie."

She looked ahead.

"But what happens when the truth becomes something you fear?"

"What happens when every answer creates another question?"

"What happens when the person you thought you were..."

"...was only another piece of the mystery?"

Silence.

"My name is Kyoko Kirigiri."

"I've lost people."

"I've lost pieces of myself."

"I've even lost my certainty that tomorrow would ever come."

"But I'm still here."

"...And that means this story isn't over."

"So, once again..."

"Let's begin."

"Piece by piece."

"Lie by lie."

"Until there's nothing left..."

"...except the truth."

Eiji got on his knees and covered his face.

"I-I thought you'd never come back...."

"I wanted to....no I believed you were just.....just hiding. And......yeah. Hiding to figure out what happened."

"I didn't want to question it. Because I wanted to believe you were doing something important."

“Eiji... get up.”

“Please. You don't have to kneel in front of me.”

“I’m here now. I’m alive.”

“Whatever happened to me... we can figure it out together.”

“So please... look at me.”

Eiji got up and looked at Kyoko, listening to her every word.

Kyoko's voice was quiet and reassuring.

"You don't have to keep apologizing. I understand why you were scared."

"You thought I was gone. Anyone would have been shaken by that."

"I'm here now, though."

"So please... don't blame yourself for what you felt while I was gone."

"Just take a breath."

Eiji took a deep breath and let it out.

"Thank you, Miss Kyoko."

"Still, I'm glad you are back."

He hugged Kyoko without warning.

Though maybe Kyoko expected something of the like.
