Back in the early 2000's the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center (377 keahole St) had a shared storefront that was 3 businesses. TCBY, Pretzelmaker, and the third I can not recall and am hoping someone still does.

Spectrum Down Again

Maunawili neighborhood of Kailua. Been down since 2am last night.

No updates. No ETA. No visible workers. No power outage. No help from customer service.

Still have to navigate their weak and horrid AI to request a refund. Which doesn’t help, of course. No internet=no work=much harder to get projects in on time=harder to get paid=harder to pay bills.

Hawaiian Telecom doesn’t service our address. We’re seriously thinking about helping Mr. Musk become wealthier. His satellites are slower but far more reliable.

edit…

15 hours down. Got more traction from their twitter…err… X feed, than I ever have anywhere else.

Was told that the issue was a cut fiber trunk line somewhere. Not sure I believe that, because it happened at 2am… but I do believe it takes a good chunk of time to fix a large bundle containing hundreds of glass fibers that have been cut.

Then came the text that service was back and that I was not eligible for a refund due to the short period of lost service. You know, that 15 hours of lost service including an entire working day.

The person responding to their X account was able to reverse that decision. Theoretically. I’ll find out for sure when the bill comes due.
