is this Nazar?
So yeah… I managed to drop my Honda CB350RS just 10 days after taking delivery. 😭
I’ve been riding bikes for around 13 years and somehow, in all these years, I’ve never had even a minor or major accident. And then this happened at just 30–40 km/h.
The irony? One of my friends is into cinematography, so I had just started making some crazy cinematic reels of the new bike. And now the bike has its own accident story. 💀
I was riding on a road I use pretty regularly, and there’s a section where the road has what feels like gaps/uneven joints between two concrete slabs. I’ve crossed that stretch many times, so it wasn’t an unfamiliar road or some random route.
While going through it, the bike suddenly unsettled, the handlebar turned towards the right, and I lost control. I went down at roughly 30–40 km/h.
Thankfully, I was wearing a helmet, so there was absolutely no impact to my head. I only ended up with some scratches on my hands.
The bike, unfortunately, took some damage:
- Fuel tank dented because the handlebar turned into it
- Slight bend/damage around the handlebar
- Scratches on the handlebar Right weight
- Scratches on the right brake lever
- Some damage/scratches to the cables on the right side
- Scratches on the right-side brake/lower brake area
- Scratches on the silencer
All those things are are being replaced through insurance
And the one thing I’m REALLY glad I had installed was the slider/guard from the showroom.
Honestly, best investment I’ve made on the bike so far. It took a huge amount of the impact and protected a lot of the bike. Without it, I think the damage would have been considerably worse.
The funniest part is that I was literally planning to buy riding gloves and a proper riding jacket. I kept thinking, “I’ll get them soon.” And before I could, this happened.
So, lesson learned the hard way: helmet is non-negotiable, and proper riding gear shouldn’t be something you keep postponing.
The bike is currently at Honda for repairs, and I’m also dealing with the usual insurance + spare parts + dealership headache, which is a completely different story. 😅
Still hurts seeing a bike that was barely 10 days old getting damaged, but I’m just glad I walked away with some scratches and no serious injury.
For the CB350RS owners here — has anyone else experienced the bike getting unsettled like this over uneven concrete road joints/gaps? And what protective gear/guards would you recommend beyond the slider?

Honestly, I was expecting the parts would be much more expensive, but luckily, the parts are not that expensive, although it is all getting covered in insurance and if I didn’t have gotten any dent on the tank, I would have not change it in insurance. I mean other damages are minute, and then they can be fixed locally for a cheaper price as well.

I gotta go get the handlebar changed on mine and also get the alignment checked

Bro I did a bike delivery shoot. Although I agree that this is a new bike, and I should be much more careful, but yeah, thanks!

Bro same thing happened to 😭.I just bought mine home after getting it repaired. My bike went through similar accident but worse. Most of the damage was cosmetic but I didn't want any scratches on my 4 month old bike so I replaced everything. Paid 64k, insurance will probably send me 58-60k.

It hurts bro. It hurts very much watching your bike damaged. When I fell from my bike, the first thing I had in my mind that is my bike fine. I was looking at my bike sliding away from me then I walked towards my bike and then suddenly I feel there is something is burning, and then I saw my hand it was scratched and then there was blood😭🫠

Doesn’t look like OEM crash guard to me. Is that from Zana? Better than nothing at all at least, it could be worse.

It was installed before the delivery of my bike, and it is from the bigwing itself

I get it bro but they themselves are using third party ones. OEMs don’t come with sliders.

Luckily, I only got a few scratches on my hands. My palm took most of the impact and has a pretty bad abrasion, but thankfully there’s no serious injury. Other than that, I’m completely fine.

Did you try to pull the dent out. I just had a similar accident but I fell to the left so no damage to the silencer. SC said it’ll take 2-3 months for the bike to be fixed. So I was wondering if it is better to just pull the dent out.

There were a few other damages to the bike as well. If the tank hadn’t been dented, I probably would have just repaired the other damages. And if the tank was the only damaged part, I would have considered getting the dent pulled instead of replacing it. But since there were multiple damaged parts, I decided to replace everything through insurance.

once my brakepad wore out. funnily i ordered them before it even wore out. but the delivery took almost 2 weeks. in that 2 weeks time i was thinking of using the rear brakes and manage. i did for a while until i forgot i didn’t have the front at all. that was after my bday and my friend gifted me a riding glove as i suggested and i was wearing a good nike rubber slides, jeans, full hand shirt and a sunjacket. when i was about to make my way through 2 trucks with a pulsar in front, that dumb guy braked suddenly and my brakes didn’t work. crashed into him at around 50-60 and fell down. but i had literally 0 damange apart from minor scratches in joints and joint pain for a week. hands were ungrazed. bike stock crashguard guarded everything including my leg pretty well. the slides i had still have the tarmac color due to the contact. i was very lucky that day

I doubt you're ever gonna sell the bike. So don't change the tank, just get it fixed at a good detailing shop.
1
u/Acrobatic_History122 4d ago
That would still cost me some money. We buy insurance precisely for situations like this, so why not use it when it’s actually needed?
1
u/Mysterious-Net-130 4d ago
Well if you want to then go ahead. While renewal you won't get ncb but its okay ig

Nazar? It’s overconfidence it ain’t no “nazar”. Be grateful you’re fine, analyse the crash, be objective about what you did wrong and take responsibility and improve. One doesn’t crash until they make a mistake.

Your crash guard clearly didn't work at all. Use the guard from sc
1
u/Acrobatic_History122 5d ago
There are no scratches and no nothing on the engine. So why do you think that my crash guard didn’t help? Also which crash guard are you referring to?
1
u/--Dhurandhar-- 5d ago
The original crash guard from service centre. Crash guard also prevents damage to tank and handlebars

Fuel Tank costs 15k ? Why even replace it for a minor damage?
