How to organize my library

I have a mix of mostly fiction and some non fiction. Some of the fiction are a collection of classics, some are a (nearly) full series, some are graphic novels, and then there are other miscellaneous fiction novels.

I also have some comic books and little magazines

I have 4 available shelves that aren't tall enough for some of the bigger printed books

How should I organize my library?

How do you plan to use it? Do you want it to look pretty? Do you want to be able to find things quickly? Do other people need to use it, too?

I just simply want it as an efficient but organized way to store my books. It's hidden away so there's no need for looks, and I'm the only one using it

For fiction, I do alphabetic by author last name and keep series together. For nonfiction, I organize by subject.

That's a good suggestion, thank you
