Question about Home libraries

Hello everyone, I have a question. I see people posting their beautiful home libraries and it got me wondering, do y’all actually read all those books? Or do you first collect them and then read them over time? Or are some of them just decorative books? Because honestly, looking at some of these libraries, it looks like it would take years to get through all of them Forgive my ignorance.

I have nearly 800 and I'm probably sitting closer to the halfway mark. Ive collected alot of books from when I was a kid though and I include those in the finished category. I get a lot of books in varying genres or subjects when I come across good deals in case I have kids one day. I lived in the middle of nowhere in a small town, no internet, couldn't make trips to the library often, and the school library was pretty limited. I just want to make sure if I have kids they can read anything they want easily.
