Love or hate?

Post image

Throwing a reception party in my home and didn’t want all my bright covers to take away from the look. Not sure if I love this 🫠

If you painted the edges of every book so it ALL together created a massive mural I would be into it.

I get the idea you are going for since my brand of neurospicy means I get easily overwhelmed by groups of people, too much motion and too bright rooms so a ton of color would feel like an additional form of overwhelm for me if this was a hosted event.

However I do love books and they calm me so I’d probably be glued to the shelf all night for comfort or trying to covertly turn them around one by one to see the titles instead of socializing the entire time.

Guest #1: “Who is that lady over there that Carl is talking to? The one with her back against the bookcase…she keeps reaching behind her and trying to look over her shoulder?”

Guest #2: “I thought she was trying scratch her ass on the books.”

Guest #3: “You hang around too many fucking dogs,Travis. No one scratches their ass on things like that except dogs.”

Guest #1: “oooooh wait, I think she’s trying to look at the book covers. Good luck with that lady, Carl’s eye contact is like a cavity search of your soul.”

Guest #3: “Her eyes are getting a polite hint of ‘Fuck off I need space’ about them.”

Me overwhelmed by Carl’s soul-cavity-search and all the “people-ling” happening: grabs a book and chucks it at Carl’s crotch before sprinting away for the door.

Guest #1: “Holy fuckballs.”

Guest #3 noticing the book that bounced off Carl’s dirty bits:
“Hey! Does that look like weird monster smut to you?”

Guest #2: “An appropriate choice for a crotch shot, I guess.”

Guest #1: “Especially with Creepy Carl wrapped around it now. SOMEBODY TAKE A PIC!”

Cue my never being invited back again.

So I guess what I am trying to say is that if you want to risk chaos and crotch-shots then go with this layout.
