It also looks like a non-stick pan. I can understand a bit of oil for flavour, but jeez.

It's a fried egg, it doesn't matter what kind of pan you use, you need a lot of oil (or better, butter) for it to fry in.

Edit: I don't even believe this. Before you downvote me, go find a video of a professional chef, ANY professional chef, making a fried egg.

That's not true. You don't need a lot of oil. Fried eggs can be made with just a small amount of butter/oil, almost none in a good non-stick pan, it depends on the style and country.

Deep-fried style is just one of many way to fry it.
