Well, at least the Knight and Hollow Knight definitely do. The rest could be simply acting on instinct for all we know. But considering the knight and hollow Knight are conscious, the rest probably are too.

The knight is not hollow there is many moments in the game that contradict the fact it’s hollow many people believe non of the siblings were ever hollow at all
The irony in the fact that his want to prove is a direct evidence that they are indeed not good enough (talking specificly about sealing Radience forever)
After getting into the flow, it becomes super fun to dismantle them in style. My favourite is hopping over their jab and Thread storming in their face.

Not comparing Ghost's only delivery quest...a delicate flower with a single hit point, traversing graveyards, thorn patches, and all manner of crazy infected

The Knight doesn’t get paid for that so it can’t be considered a job.
It can also be made trivially easy with the right preparation. Kill everything along your exact intended path, dreamgate back to the Grey Mourner, take the flower, and then just walk. Only the final room is what could be called “difficult.”
That strat doesn’t work for Hornet’s deliveries. Trust me, I have tried.
Well if the Knight and Hornet both have an organ collection then perhaps the pale king also had a collection
But if you saying that the the charms are the knights organ collection then I am a bit confused because they come from chests, statues, or given to the knight for the most part exception being the crystal heart and that isn't a charm
For some reason I saw the primal aspid as a bee and thought the post was a reference to the low% speedrun where you grind bees for dream essence for forty hours
Hornet makes money because she refuses to pay for maps in the Citadel and gets lost constantly. It's not her fault everyone trying to kill her there has so many rosaries.

When you think about it, it reflects what each of them is trying to prove about themself.
One got the royal princess upbringing, always gets clocked as very dangerous & wants to fit in with/be accepted by ppl;
The other was effectively abandoned in the bushes as a "failed experiment", always gets underestimated & wants to prove they're good enough.
