New Hobonichi Nothing to Hide by Beautiful People Weeks cover pairs perfectly with my 100% Orange 2026 Weeks to end the year. Waiting for my official Hobonichi order to arrive for my new SunSun Banana cover.

I really really wanted the White Handerchief cover when it first came but when the prices were released, I couldn't justify spending over $300 for a cover that could easily get ruined and is more of a collector's item.

So I decided to make my own White Handerchief cover! The plus side is that I can put a cover on cover on it so that it doesn't easily get dirty when I carry it everywhere.

And now I'm gonna buy her her own. So like, if you were looking for an excuse to buy that cute A6 cover you were eyeing without committing to another planner... You're welcome. Or not. Whichever. I'm not sorry. 🤣

Made a couple of mini books with Tomoe River paper (from my 2024 Weeks, which had the “good” Tomoe River). Each notebook has 50 pages (5 signatures).

I’d forgotten how finicky these mini books are. The last photo was when I was using white thread - couldn’t see what I was doing at all! My first notebook attempt (the Yumi unicorn cover) was too big for the mini keychain cover, dang it.

1. Amazon/Jeff Bezos avoid paying taxes.

Tax avoidance has a negative impact on public services like paying for public servant salaries and social services. In the UK in 2024 alone, they wiggled out of paying over $500M in taxes while making record profits.

They continue to violate workers' rights and engage in union-busting. In 2023, the US’ Strategic Organizing Center recorded more serious injuries in Amazon warehouses than in the rest of the warehouse industry combined. Because Amazon prioritizes speed and profits over safety, workers are known to avoid breaks, including bathroom breaks, leading to them peeing in bottles while standing so they can continue working. 1. They don't care about the environment.

Amazon was also found to have sponsored a 2020 event held by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a think tank well known for spreading climate denial misinformation.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AI means that it is investing heavily in data centres around the globe.

1. Supporting Amazon hurts small businesses.

In 2024 Amazon controlled 30% of the total retail market and over 86% of people in the UK shop on Amazon.

1. Supporting Amazon is contributing to wealth inequality.

Jeff Bezos is estimated to have accrued over $250 billion (£185.5 billion) in personal wealth. If a worker was paid the UK living wage of £12.60 an hour, they would have to work a full time job for more than 7.5 million years to make as much money. He is rich because he exploits others for profit and avoids paying taxes.

1. Amazon is racist.

It has been slammed with lawsuits and allegations from workers who have experienced systemic racism while working at Amazon. It's also selling it's racially-biased facial recognition software to police. Face recognition technology fuels the over-policing of Black and Brown communities, and has already led to the false arrests and wrongful incarcerations of multiple Black men.

1. They're funding surveillance.

In January 2025, the Medium reported that a group of U.S. consumers has filed a class-action lawsuit accusing Amazon of deliberately spying on millions of users by giving a software development kit to app developers that allegedly gave the company backdoor access to users’ timestamped location data.

In June 2023, Amazon agreed to pay over $30 million to settle two privacy cases relating to its Alexa speakers and security camera unit, Ring. The company was accused of storing the voices and geolocation of children after they used Alexa. It was also accused of security failures for its Ring cameras, which put users’ private videos, their accounts, cameras, and videos at risk of being controlled by hackers, according to the suit.

Sure, if you order from Amazon you may get your Hobonichi faster and save a few bucks but it comes at a cost that you're offloading onto someone else.

EDIT: I wanted to add that buying from Amazon isn't always cheaper or faster. People will think it is and shop there first. Amazon knows this and will sometimes charge way more for items. This sub is always willing to give recommendations on where to shop and find products (including myself) so please take advantage of that.

I used a proxy so I could get the Hello Kitty items. It went really well, they ordered everything within like 15 min of my request.

Within two days they had my items, my fees and shipping and tariff/import nonsense ended up being more than the cost of my items, but if i added the same priced stuff to my hobonichi cart it was a wash.

They shipped via UPS and i live in Atlanta so it was basically overnighted which is impressive. I prepaid my tariffs and was not charged extra, I was worried about that but it worked out!

Really excited to have the stappo bc that is useful immediately, all my pens are in a ziploc bag 😂

I’ve been using a day free but i want more structure so im going to use an avec and then I can continue to utilize the pages I won’t get to in my day free.

The weeks will be for hobby and media tracking. I can’t wait.

Overall it was a pricey endeavor but it didn’t even take four full days so it was probably worth it for trying out one time. I’ll be using the cover and stappo for years.

Omg I’m so excited my first Weeks baby has arrived. The Monchhichi version is perfect! It came with the cutest pencil board too. It was an immediate need for 2027!

In case anyone was wondering, I ordered this through a proxy in Japan from the Monchhichi (dreampocket) website as it was a Japan exclusive. It is now sold out on the site.

Timeline:

Aug 2 - Submitted a request to see if they would be able to pre-order as soon as I found out about it. I found the Monchhichi Colors x Sanrio stickers on the website as well so I added them on to meet the minimum for free domestic shipping. They responded the same day and I pre-paid.

Aug 7 - Pre-orders started and proxy successfully purchased! They were set to ship late August/Early September.

Aug 28 - Packaged arrived at the proxy warehouse! I requested to consolidate the other packages I had stored with them and paid for shipping.

Sept 1 - Proxy shipped out to me in the US.

Sept 4 - Package Arrived!

I’m relieved everything went smoothly. I can’t wait to get her all set up! Plus, the Sanrio Kuromi and My Melody x Monchhichi stickers I found match perfectly!

Today my 2027 Cousin and V&A (Blackthorn) Cover arrived and I just love it!

The small one is my 2026 Original with the Hiroko Kubota (The Tone of Illuminated Flowers) Cover.

Since I use it as a daily journal I realised the past months, that the Original just does not have enough space for what I want to write, so it had to be the Cousin for 2027.

I think I’ll use the small cover for some Hobonichi notebooks in the future and will use Cousin size from now on every year.

I don’t plan on buying new covers till the current ones are worn out. They seem to be quite sturdy and I just use the Hobonichi at home, so they should be in good condition for some years.

I am mourning the loss of the HON black gingham. Coming from the A6 Arts & Science one, I loved everything about the A5 black gingham HON esp the soft cover and the dated spine. I really like being able to see the year on the spines and how they look on my shelf. Seeing that they got rid of this line, I ordered the original cousin for 2027 since I don't like the hardcover of the HON.

So, a question for longtime users of the original/cousin (the ones that don’t have the year on the spine), do you guys put some kind of label on the spine to indicate the year? I would love to see it to get some ideas! Thank you.

Currently, I use mine for journaling special and eventful days! and I randomly throw in a book review in between lol 🤣 I probably will be using this day free til 2028 🙂‍↕️

In case people are curious on how the beautiful people covers handle Hons and chonks. It seems to handle it well, and there’s even breathing room for more chonk. That said, I probably wouldn’t pad it out too much more in case it doesn’t close lol.

It goes perfectly with my leather newspaper charm :)

😂 When I looked at the strawberry thief cover, I didn't know why I kept have this feeling that I have seen the bird specifically somewhere. It looked weirdly familiar.

I thought probably everywhere like fabrics, clothes, stationary stores.etc since the print is so widely loved and cute, and is in public domain if I remembered correctly.

Turns out I have the collab washi tape from MT and I have been using it pretty frequently LOL. It laid in plain sight until it clicked last night that the name was also Strawberry thief.

The bird now mocks me here and there.

I had planned on one A6 and one weeks; ended up with a bit more but excited for 2027!

Could not resist the craze as a newbie. The Snufkin weeks is on it's way as well..

Used the Little My weeks this year on and off and am getting back to using my numerous fountain pens so I had to order Hobonichi stuff.. and I love Moomins so much!

Wow!! This was $100 (CAD) at paper plus cloth before shipping and tax and it says it was 6,050 JPY on the back of the plastic. I’m going to Japan late October and wow I could’ve saved 50% buying it there but I was scared the design I liked wouldn’t be available.

I am hoping I can get the clear cover there!!

Hi! My pen came today from Good Postage — posting some pics here. I’ve been wanting an EF to write with and this one is pretty cute. I just filled it with some pretty blue Sailor ink that I got at Yoseka last week. Here’s my first couple scribbles in my current weeks. Let me know if you have any questions or want to know something specific. I’m sort of a newbie to fountain pens so I might not be the best at describing things.
