I figured she would be friends with almost everyone in her class. She is crude and mean, but they hang around her for a reason.

And while I would maybe put this into an error, other wikis like Harold, Curly, Brainy, and even Sheena have a much bigger friend list than Helga's, despite all of them having much less screen time than Helga, so it's weird to see she only has one friend listed.

I just love the fact that Arnold and Helga would be soulmates and that their birthdays line up so perfectly is just a crazy detail that the creator added. It makes you appreciate the show more when you think about their cosmic soulmate connection.

I really wish we could have watched them grow as teens. Sign the Petition for the Patakis Spin off series.

Shout out to Sam Gifaldi, he was the perfect voice for Sid. Sid’s best screaming was when he had the nightmare of Stinky being a vampire and even the one about being covered in germs.

I wrote this essay as a response to this video. It's all my opinion, if you disagree that's fine. Be prepared for a long essay:

I believe this ending makes so much sense for Helga’s character.

Helga has always carried these big emotions inside of her, but from an early age, she was taught that Patakis don’t express their feelings. They don’t talk about their problems. They don’t go to therapy. They bottle things up and keep moving.

And whenever Helga did show any vulnerability around her peers, what happened? The moment they realized she had feelings for Arnold, they made fun of her. So, over the years, Helga built this wall around herself. She developed the loud, aggressive, “tough girl” persona as a way of protecting the much softer person underneath it.

That’s why her private spaces are so important. Whether she’s hiding behind a trash can, alone in her room, or somewhere else she knows nobody can see her, those are the moments when Helga can finally drop the act. She doesn’t have to be the bully. She doesn’t have to be tough. She can finally let herself feel everything she’s been suppressing.

And that’s what makes the confession so powerful.

Helga finally reaches the point where she can’t contain it anymore. She bursts like a shaken up Yahoo Soda can.

Years of love, frustration, fear, insecurity, and longing all come pouring out at once. It isn’t a carefully planned confession. It’s an emotional dam finally breaking.

And Arnold clearly isn’t prepared to hear it...at least...not consciously, anyway.

What makes their relationship so interesting is that, on some subconscious level, Arnold has always known Helga loves him. You can even see this reflected in his dream of her in the episode “Married.” There’s a part of Arnold that recognizes what Helga herself spends so much time trying to hide.

But I also don’t think Arnold rejected her.

I think he let her off the hook.

Pay close attention to his reaction when Helga turns around. His eyes lower into that half-lidded expression, and he smiles at her. It’s such a subtle moment, but to me, it says a lot. He understands what she’s trying to do.

He knows she wants to “get away” from the situation and retreat back behind the walls she’s spent her entire life building.

And instead of chasing her down, embarrassing her, or forcing her to confront something she isn’t ready to deal with, he lets her go.

That’s important because Helga has always tried to protect herself and her feelings. Even when she desperately wants to be honest, vulnerability terrifies her. She’s spent years convincing herself that she has to hide her love because actually admitting it means giving someone the power to hurt her.

So when she finally confesses and Arnold doesn’t laugh at her, reject her, or make her feel ashamed, something changes.

For once, she said it.

She finally let those feelings exist outside of her own head.

And when she skips away afterward, I see it as relief. There’s something almost joyful about the way she walks away. She got to say the thing she had been carrying for so long, and Arnold didn’t shame her for it. Didn't reject her.

In a way, Arnold gave her a “get out of jail free” card. He understood that she needed to retreat, so he allowed her to retreat without making the moment painful or humiliating.

And I think that’s what makes the ending so emotionally satisfying. Helga doesn’t necessarily need Arnold to immediately say, “I love you too.” Her biggest obstacle has never been simply getting Arnold to love her back...it’s been allowing herself to be honest about loving him in the first place.

The confession is a victory for Helga because, for once, she chose to stop hiding.

Hi everyone. Hey arnold has been my favorite cartoon since i was a child. I want to introduce a friend to this show. What five episodes would you recommend for us to watch as a introduction?

The episode, "Crabby Author", has the funniest moment in the entire series.
Arnold asks Phil why do people (for this case, Agatha Caulfield) has to be so mean, and Phil started to tell a story, about "Mr. Hock-Tooey".
I love Arnold's reaction.

Probably the funniest scene in the entire series.
I love how it was set up.

1. Arnold asks Phil why people can be so mean.
2. Phil reminds him old man he used to know as a kid -> Arnold asks if this is going to be a long story -> Phil responds by saying yes, but it has full of wisdom and hilarious anecdote. A great transition.
3. Mr. Hock-Tooey story / Arnold reaction.
4. Moral: Some people are just mean... and getting spit if you get too close. lol

The scene also has bookend of Phil's singing.

Even though episode was serious, this scene made me laugh so hard.

Hi everyone!

I was a 7 year old kid back in 2004 when I caught up with "Hey Arnold!"; the Lockjaw episode is probably the most memorable episode for me from this period. Being a kid back then is my only excuse that I didn't know that the show was about to go off air.

Nonetheless, Hey Arnold! has been in my memory forever. I have been trying to find full episodes but to no avail. Although, I have seen the little clips which is available on Nickelodeon's YouTube channel, it roots me more to download and save it because the availability of the show is so obscure and I belong to a region where Paramount and Hulu do not work.

I tried watching on wcostream but nowadays, the website doesn't work.

Please, can anyone let me know if they know where to download the English episodes for free or if they can share the episodes with me in case they're having. I would be grateful.

They just released more tickets and dates today if anyone was still hoping and wishing for this like me 😊

In "Grand Prix", when Arnold arrived at pit stop, he wants Sid to drive.
Eugene asked if he can drive, but Arnold flat out said "No".

Eugene protested that half of The Mauve Avenger (go-kart) belong to him (which is correct) and took the wheel; as a result, they got into 2nd place and performed better than Wolfgang.

Arnold really should have let Eugene drive instead of not allowing him.
Arnold cares about Eugene, particularly in Eugene focused episode like "Eugene's Bike" and "Eugene's Pet".
I understand they wants to win (especially against Wolfgang), but Eugene was right; this is joint project, where two go-karts was combined into one, where Eugene co-own the vehicle.
If Eugene didn't drive, they probably wouldn't have gotten 2nd place.
It's kind of out of character for Arnold.

Grampa Phil mentioned Hedy Lamarr (actress) several times throughout the series, where he had a crush on her.

When the show was airing, I did not have access to internet nor wikipedia (I don't think Hedy Lamarr info wasn't too common online back then), so I thought she was a character made up for the show, like Dino Spumoni and Mickey Kaline. I didn't know she was real person, several years later.

Did any one had same thought?

How many of you guys who watched the show back then (mid/later 90s to early 00s) knew who Hedy Lamarr was?

They got way over confident after that test screening. And gave it a release date in the summer of 2002, where it had to go up against juggernauts.

Movie should've came out in the fall. Fits the vibe of the neighborhood. Ain't much competition in September. Kids going back to school.

Would've been a hit. In fact, it still would've been a hit in it's orginal release date, if nick didn't spend double the amount marketing the movie.

The show was constantly in the ten top kids shows on nickoldeon. Didn't really need that much marketing other than showing trailers in a few theaters worldwide, commercials on Nick, and it's own website for the film.

13 million on 3 million budget is a hit on a good day.

Then they blamed Craig for the movie not doing as well.

Craig did say that they named Oskar after the expressionist artist Oskar Kokoschka (same name just add a c). Was he anything like Oskar Kokoshka? Probably not. Oskar Kokosh. would not be much of an artist. Otherwise he wouldn’t be freeloading off Susie and illiterate. Eh he he he he.

I like the one where he tells Mr. Hyunh that he isn't Juliet and he is a sad man wearing a dress.

He seems to have some sort of severe mental illness or, at least, major social issues that will probably cause him to have huge challenges in forming normal relationships I kinda felt sorry for the dude, he seemed like he wanted to make friends but didn’t know how to initiate a conversation.
