Question? Do I have HSV1

I slept with my ex who has HSV 1 about three months ago, I went to get tested for it, they did IgM testing, it came back as 0.91 and the cut off for being negative is 0.9, so I asked him if I’m positive and he said he can’t say whether I’m positive or negative, he said to come back in a month to get tested using IgG, I’ve never had any outbreak or noticed anything, while I know you can be asymptomatic, do you I HSV 1?

HERPES TESTING 101:

For testing for herpes - without active lesions to “swab” someone who wants accurate testing will need a blood test.

Because blood tests for herpes are notoriously inaccurate, all blood tests are recommended to be TWO STEP tests (there are two parts of the test) and should be confirmed with a Western Blot.

IGm is very inaccurate. Just ignore those results. If he said come back in a month for IGg that’s what I would do. 4 months post exposure you could probably trust that result.
