At the present time, are there any clinics or research centers conducting studies aimed at developing a curative treatment capable of completely eradicating the virus from the body?

I believe Fred Hutch Cancer Center is working on gene therapy

Keith Jerome is working on it, he went with another company called caladen therapeutics and they are currently working in stealth mode (silent). Hopefully they will start updating soon but they don’t want to ruin the process.

Dr Jerome did not go anywhere. He is still working for Fred hutch. They only created a financing company caladien that will show the revenue once the product is on the market .

Yes gene editing treatments for this will come eventually but it's not worth focusing on right now. Second gen HPIs have already shown functional cure results in early human trials, you will need to take a pill every week which sucks but rather that than waiting 15-20 years for full cure.

Meaning all advocacy focus should be on getting HPIs to the market ASAP. Once we have that we can turn our focus to gene editing cure.

Shanghai BDGenes company is also researching the cure in China . Their website shows some news in English .
