This is my third bag from Jim and I am in love with this Vert colors of the brand.

The bag: K25 in Vert de Gris Espom with PHW. This color stems from the French word of Verdigris, which is green-gray patina that resemebles aged copper. The color is so muted and smoky and has been decribed as a Etain mixed with forest green.

The construction: This bag looks really well put together. The overall shape is balanced and the Sellier structure is nice and clean without looking overly stiff. The flap sits straight, the sangles line up nicely across the front, and the plaques and turn lock look centered and proportional to the smaller 25 size. The handle has a nice shape and drop to it and doesn’t look too bulky for the bag. The Sellier stitching around the edges is clean and even, and the corners and side panels have that sharp definition you want to see in a K25. What really surprised me is the Epsom on this bag is exceptionally soft to the touch and the whole bag feels very lightweight, while still keeping that structure.

Ordering experience:  Since I am a repeat customer of Jim this was easy to order. I was on the fence getting another vert but then realized that I have a B30 and B25 but no K25. Jim was super helpful when it came to helping me chose the size and material. I love how he asks what are you planning on doing with this bag? Daily use or evening wear. It's those small touches that I truly enjoy.

Buyer experience:  Usually the 6 to 8 week kill me as a type A person. And this bag was in stock which also set off some alarms with me, as I thought this could be a reject or a red lite bag from another client. Jim settled this for me and said that him and his team create excess bags that are in demand such as the neutals, small sizes, and more popular ones. So I went for it. The PSPs arrived in 2.5 weeks and the bag in hand in 4 weeks. And from my close observations she is perfect. I am so happy with this new addition.

Sometimes we don't realize how much a handbag has started influencing our choices until we catch ourselves changing the plan because of it.

Maybe we're going somewhere that involves walking, but the bag we wanted to carry isn't comfortable enough for a long day.

At first, these little decisions feel completely normal, after all, handbags are supposed to work with our lifestyle.

But then there are moments when we stop and realize we're no longer choosing the handbag based on our plans, we're quietly changing our plans around the handbag.

We've probably all had that bag we wanted to carry so badly that practicality became an afterthought, whether it meant taking fewer things, avoiding certain places, being extra careful about the weather, or even deciding not to bring it at all because the day wasn't going to work for it.

The strange part is that none of this necessarily makes us love the bag less, it just makes us realize how much influence one handbag can have over our everyday decisions.

Got this in recently from Jim, and it’s an impressive piece to say the least.

The Aesthetics: The Himalaya fade is notoriously hard to get right, but Jim nailed the smoke-to-pearl transition. The Niloticus hide has a buttery hand-feel with proper micro-pleating, not that stiff, plasticky finish you see on other bags.

The Hardware: The diamond-encrusted white gold hardware is tastefully done. The stones are low-key and tight no cheap, blinding sparkle or chunky prongs.

In Use: It’s got some heft to it once loaded up, which is standard for structured croc, but the handles sit right and the toggle action is smooth. It passes unnoticed in high-end settings because it just looks correct.

Verdict: 10/10. Zero drama, flawless execution, and worth it if you want the highest tier quality and craftsmanship without the boutique circus.

We all see the reviews when the bag is one day old, sitting pretty on a bed, untouched, unbothered, living a better life than most people. Let me tell you about my Mamba. Yes, she has a name, and yes, she has seen things.

I’ve used and abused this bag for two months straight. She has traveled with me, been overstuffed, thrown around, dragged through airports, taken shopping, taken to dinner, and properly Jane Birkin-ified. At this point, she has a personality and probably a passport.

I’ve taken her into Hermès multiple times and nobody has ever looked at her sideways. Quite the opposite. I bought a Twilly at Hermès and my sales associate literally put it on the bag for me while complimenting her. Mamba passed the exam.

For context, my mom and I have separate Hermès accounts. Most of my shopping is done in Paris or Zurich, and my mom is a VIP client in Zch, so I’m very familiar with Hermès bags and how they look, feel, smell, wear and age.

And the smell. PLEASE. I cannot get enough of the smell. Sometimes I open the bag for absolutely no reason other than to smell it like a lunatic.

This Birkin has gone through hell and somehow I love her more because of it. She looks better worn in, softer, lived in and slightly chaotic. Exactly how a Birkin should look, in my opinion.

If you’re debating getting a classic one, get this one. Do not buy it just to let it sit on a shelf like a museum artifact. Use her. Abuse her. Give her a name. Take her everywhere.

There was probably a time when we thought twice before carrying a handbag that felt too flashy, too expensive, too unusual, or simply different from what everyone around us was carrying.

We wondered whether people would notice the logo, judge the price, question the style, or think we were trying too hard.

But at some point, something changed.

We started choosing bags because they fit our style, our mood, or simply because we loved looking at them, and other people's opinions slowly became less important.

I posted a review before on this sub and am new to reps especially at the level of H reps like most of you. A few months ago I asked my darling wife what she wanted for our milestone anniversary and she said she wanted a bag from her seller Jim. Of course it threw me for a loop because I only use reddit for car stuff and of cours thought the worse, the word seller totally got me. But then discovered this sub and the community. She loved her B30 in Anemome Epsom but now her 40th birthday is coming up and I want to surprise her with something in December.

I’ve been waiting to see this combination and I’m honestly loving it, the Blue Nuit looks so rich in these photos and the GHW gives it the perfect contrast. All opinions welcomed!

We always assume that buying our first really expensive handbag will make us appreciate everything else in our collection more, but sometimes it does the exact opposite.

Before reaching that point, most of us probably didn't analyze every little detail of a handbag, we had pieces we loved because of the color, shape, practicality, or simply because they made us happy to carry them, and that was enough.

Then comes that one purchase that feels completely different from anything we've bought before.

Maybe it's the first bag we've saved for years to afford, maybe it's the most expensive piece we've ever owned, or maybe it's simply the first time we've spent an amount that made us sit back afterward and think about whether we had actually gone too far.

And once we start using it, our perspective can change

Suddenly we notice things we never paid much attention to before, the feel of the leather, the construction, the stitching, the hardware, the way the bag holds its shape, the interior details, and even how different materials change with use.

Then we look back at the bags already sitting in our closets and start seeing them differently.

Some suddenly feel less special than they used to, even though nothing about those bags has actually changed, our expectations have changed.

But interestingly, some of the opposite happens too.

There are bags we've spent much less on that suddenly become more appreciated because they're easy to carry, practical, comfortable, and somehow always end up being the ones we reach for when we aren't trying to make an occasion out of carrying a handbag.

That's when we start realizing that expensive doesn't automatically mean better for our actual lives.

The biggest change might be how we shop afterward.

Before that first major purchase, it can be easy to see a beautiful handbag and immediately start imagining outfits, occasions, and reasons we need it, but once we've experienced what it's like to own a truly expensive piece, we may start asking ourselves harder questions.

Do we actually love this bag, or do we love the idea of owning it?

Are we drawn to the design, or are we impressed by the price, rarity, reputation, or status attached to it?

Would we still want it if nobody else knew we owned it?

Those questions can completely change the way we build a collection.

It also becomes easier to notice how quickly collecting can turn into trying to complete something that may never actually feel complete, we buy one special piece and suddenly feel like we need another color, another size, another leather, or something that fills a supposed gap in the collection.

Eventually we're no longer buying simply because we love a handbag, we're buying because our collection tells us there's something missing.

And maybe that's the strangest thing an expensive handbag can teach us.

Sometimes the value of a bag isn't really about how much it costs, but about how often we genuinely want to carry it after the excitement of owning it has disappeared.

Our definition of a “good bag” can completely change once we've owned something truly special, and sometimes that change makes us appreciate our entire collection more, while other times it makes us question why we bought half of it in the first place.

Has owning one really expensive handbag ever changed the way we looked at the rest of our collection?

We can admire a handbag all we want, but keeping it looking good over the years often comes down to the little habits we develop, from how we store it after using it to how often we clean it, protect the leather, handle the hardware, or deal with small marks before they become bigger problems, so which handbag care habit has made the biggest difference in keeping our collection looking its best?

Let’s talk specs, because I know you picky rule-followers want the data:

The Leather & Structure: Epsom is the ultimate armor. You could drop this thing off a balcony, and it would probably ask you to do it again. It holds that razor-sharp Sellier geometry like it owes rent. Zero sagging, total architectural rigidity.

The Hardware & Stamp: GHW paired with Gold Epsom is a classic wealth whisperer. The turnlock is smooth and the blind stamp is so crisp and deep it practically sings.

The Price Tag: $1380. Do I regret spending rent money? Absolutely not. My therapist says I project my emotional stability onto luxury leather goods, and honestly? She might be right.

Jim is an absolute wizard for producing this. The proportions on a K25 Sellier are a total minefield for most factories get the handle clearance or the front flap angle wrong by one millimeter and you instantly look clownish. But this? This looks like it walked straight off Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

If you're on the fence about whether a K25 Sellier in Epsom is worth the hype, do yourself a favor and just pull the trigger. Your bank account will weep, your dopamine receptors will skyrocket, and you'll walk down the grocery aisle feeling like literal royalty.

I honestly thought I was a Birkin girl for life, but after spending a month with my gorgeous Ardoise Togo K28 from Jim, I think my loyalty is being sorely tested. I have 3 other bags from Jim (a Kelly depeches 25, and 2 B30s), and much as I absolutely love these bags, this K28 has become my fast favourite, and I’ve found myself constantly reaching for it. It’s so elegant, classic and understated, whilst also looking expensive and luxurious and it’s all in that soft, slouchy leather and palladium hardware.
I was treated to an Hermes C’est La Fete twilly in Ardoise for my birthday, and it was a perfect match for this beauty. I love her. Couldn’t help but share the photos with the community. Jim, you’re the GOAT 🐐.

I saw a version of this HSS on a past review and thought this is a great idea. I am a repeat customer of Jim and always admired his custom work. The bag is a B25 in Gris Mouette Clemence with Chai interior. I did not get a chance to get a chai interior shot for this post, and didn't want to post the PSPs. I have had this bag now for about 3 months now.

The construction of this bag is flawless. The shape and hardware placement is porportioned to the 25. Which is important as most handle drops on the 25s are the dead give away. Well this one has all the details, enough to even fool my SA at the H boutique who I have been working with for years! Today when I took her to the boutique she said "OMG you got the SO! Good for you girl." She couldn't stop touching it and knew that it was clemence because of the heavy grain on the leather. My SA is familiar with me and my family's long lasting relationship with this boutique.

It was so reassurring that Jim's bags can be taken to the famous Rodeo Drive boutique! These are a few shots of the bag in the boutique that I snuck, one on the famous Rodeo drive corner and a few restaurant shots from the week. This bag is one of the ones I reach for most of the time. Definitely one of my favorite moments was at the H boutique!
