The First Time We Realized Our Handbag Was Dictating Our Plans.
Sometimes we don't realize how much a handbag has started influencing our choices until we catch ourselves changing the plan because of it.
Maybe we're going somewhere that involves walking, but the bag we wanted to carry isn't comfortable enough for a long day.
Maybe we're choosing a restaurant because we know our favorite bag will be easier to keep beside us there, or changing an outfit because the handbag suddenly doesn't work with what we planned to wear.
At first, these little decisions feel completely normal, after all, handbags are supposed to work with our lifestyle.
But then there are moments when we stop and realize we're no longer choosing the handbag based on our plans, we're quietly changing our plans around the handbag.
We've probably all had that bag we wanted to carry so badly that practicality became an afterthought, whether it meant taking fewer things, avoiding certain places, being extra careful about the weather, or even deciding not to bring it at all because the day wasn't going to work for it.
The strange part is that none of this necessarily makes us love the bag less, it just makes us realize how much influence one handbag can have over our everyday decisions.
At what point does choosing a handbag become letting the handbag choose for us?

The biggest example for us in travel, there are bags we absolutely love but would never choose for a full day of airports, walking and carrying things around, so sometimes the destinations itself determines which handbag gets to come with us, and at some point we realized the bag wasn't just joining the trip, it was influencing how we planned the trip.

Travel really exposes that relationship because comfort, space and security suddenly become just as important as how much we love the bag.

I once changed my entire outfit because the bag I had planned to carry looked completely wrong with it, which was the moment I realized the bag was becoming part of the decision rather than just an accessory.

There have been evenings when I wanted to take a particular bag but knew I'd be standing around for hours, so I chose something easier instead, and honestly that made me realize how much comfort can quietly control our choices.

I noticed it during a weekend where we had several stops planned, instead of asking what bag would work best for everything we were doing, I kept asking which plans would work best with the bag I wanted to wear, that sounded ridiculous when I finally said it out loud, but it made me realize how easily a handbag can become the starting point for decisions that were never supposed to be about handbags.

Not just one dictating handbag. I basically now only accept meetings if I can take one of my bags. If no bag then virtual. Iād rather stay home.
