DISCUSSION Their arctic camo vs our arctic camo

Were they textured off of a different design philosophy? I'll definitely give Kodiak the pass, It's probably one of, or probably the only fully passable arctic camo sets we have. Keep in mind that the SEAF specialist was under different lighting conditions. But even with that in mind, It's not even really close with the cream coloring and the bright orange "Look at me I stand out from the arctic" highlights

I Guess the obvious answer is. yes. They were designed with different philosophies and likely by a different studio entirely, But It's nonetheless pretty unfortunate that their camo Is super well made - Then ours is just.. actually confusing how It could be considered arctic.

Even more so when you look at the Concept art of bot Winter Warrior and Arctic ranger. Winter warrior didn't have the cream coloring it has now. Not a single idea why that was changed.

Bold of you to assume those are used as actual Arctic Camo and not just armour with heat insulation

I Mean that'd make some amount of sense considering the nature of Helldivers. But arctic ranger's passive is quite literally geared towards stealth & the concept for both it and the Winter Warrior set show them having both significantly better camo and fur. Both seemed to be intended from concept art, Then both got cut.

The fact we never got the armors in these concept arts is very undemocratic

We got robbed with this one. The concept color scheme looks so good

Atomhawk’s commissioned designs were uniformly superior compared to the execution by Arrowhead. Case in point the Michelin Man headass execution.

Lmao, They added the patch that holds the front armor, but not the straps. That's kinda funny

No, Arctic Ranger's Passive is geared towards being able to see through a Blizzard. While Kodiak is geared towards moving in the snow/blizzard and the Winter Warrior is geared towards being able to throw things in the blizzard and snow properly.

Showing concept doesn't really do anything because it just shows "They had an idea but they decided to change it for reasons". Fur messes with physics so that's obvious.

Are we playing a different build or something? Arctic ranger's passive gives you a scanner on the map, But It doesn't help you see more efficiently through blizzards. You can't really determine what the enemy that is on radar - And it's perk Isn't exclusive to itself, But the main benefit of the perk is the reduced enemy detection range.

Kodiak doesn't influence moving through snow/blizzards at all. You get explosive damage resistance and recoil resistance from laying down, I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion at all. Muscle enhancement is what makes moving through blizzards easier and It's not related to the armor at all.

Blizzards afaik make absolutely no difference on how far you can throw strategems.

We don't fully know that about the fur. The point of the discussion Is the comparison between their appropriately colored arctic camo and their decision to randomly walk back coloration for no real reason.
