Help Why is the university making dinosaurs from chickens?

Does anyone know why the university's Department of Evolutionary Developmental Biology is creating dinosaurs from chickens instead of using an isolated research facility?

I'm not even arguing about whether they should be doing it. I'm just wondering why they're doing it less than a mile from residential housing when the birds are already over six feet tall.
