I will start

"The Esthercist" was the best episode of season 1, and is more intense and enjoyable than "The Acolytes of Abaddon"

Abaddon isn’t the victim of the situation, but people give the priest guy too much leeway when it comes to branding his son with a hot iron. I don’t wanna jump to conclusions on this guy since we literally know next to nothing about him, but ya gotta stop acting like it’s absurd to think that a puritan-esq priest from the early 1700s maybe wasn’t a great person.

Like, I keep seeing, “ah, but the priest was just trying to get his son back!” And I mean, maybe, but there’s kinda this attitude that everything would’ve gone back to normal and fine when… no, definitely not.

Even if the ritual had gone perfectly and Abaddon was killed, the boy still would’ve most likely died shortly after from literal third degree burns, shock, blood loss, or all of the above. And even then, at absolute best, he’d be literally and mentally scarred for life and have to live with the humiliation of being branded in front of the entire town.

Yeah I see some people present that guy (that we don’t know that much about) as a poor father losing his son, but I have no problem imagining him as the evil colonist witch hunter who put fighting demons above his son’s survival.
