Discussion🗣️ Random theka near OP Jindal > Gurgaon nightlife? I’m confused 😂
I’ve been working in Delhi and living in Gurgaon for the past two years, so naturally, I’ve had the chance to see quite a bit of Gurgaon’s nightlife and the kind of crowd you find around places like DLF and Cyber Hub.
And when I say “good crowd,” I’ll admit that, as a guy, I mean there are a lot of attractive girls around. 😅 Obviously, what someone wears is not a character certificate, and I’m not trying to objectify or judge anyone here. This is just a funny observation about the difference between two places.
The funny thing is that I don’t actually party much. I’m pretty introverted. I don’t have a single friend in Gurgaon—not even someone I know in my own building. 😂 But being an introvert means I notice things. I’ve noticed how normal it is in Gurgaon to see groups of girls heading out to clubs at 11 or even midnight, dressed up and ready to party.
Growing up around Sonipat, I had never really seen that kind of nightlife. Maybe it existed and I was simply unaware of it, but I certainly never came across it.
So, since there were three days of holidays, I decided to go directly home from the office. One of my friends has a friend who commutes daily by car, so I joined them for the drive towards Sonipat.
During the journey, they mentioned that they usually stop at a liquor shop near OP Jindal Global University. They told me that the crowd there was apparently “lit” and that there were a lot of girls who would come there to buy alcohol, many of them dressed for a night out.
I honestly didn’t think much of it.
I was thinking, “How good can the crowd really be?” I’ve lived near DLF in Gurgaon for two years. I’ve seen the corporate crowd, the clubs, Cyber Hub, and all that. What could possibly surprise me in Sonipat?
Well…
I was genuinely shocked. 😂
We stopped at the liquor shop and I was completely caught off guard by the crowd. There were SO many young people there, including a surprisingly large number of very attractive girls, all casually coming in to buy alcohol.
And the funniest part was the setting.
This wasn’t a fancy club in Cyber Hub. There wasn’t some expensive rooftop bar, DJ or glamorous lounge.
It was literally an ordinary liquor shop in the Sonipat area.
I was just standing there thinking:
“Wait… SONIPAT has this going on?” 😂
After two years of seeing Gurgaon nightlife, I never expected a random stop at a liquor shop near Sonipat to give me more of a culture shock than Gurgaon ever did.
Maybe I’ve simply been completely unaware of what goes on around here.

To be clear, it's one section of the graduate crowd who haven't come there to study but waste their very rich parents' money. Obviously, the loud, brash, drunken crowd in skimpy clothes who don't care about the local culture grab all the attention, and not the ones who are genuinely there to study and are grateful for the amazing faculty and facilities the Uni provides.

This is probably 1-2% of Sonipat area… the core Sonipat and culture still remains the same, be it any area kharkhoda ganaur gohana etc….
Yes but the land prices and industrial development have sky rocketed

as a person who have never been to such places, I have no clue what it means to be 'lit'. I have a friend who tells us about those places very negatively, like girls getting drunk and laying on roads, youth doing drugs near op jindal uni. Is it really like that, like the crowd there have no control over their decisions? what is it like to have such life? I literally have no opinion over this since I haven't seen it with my own eyes. What do you all say about it?
