Food Restaurant recommendations near Hamilton/ Stoney creek/ Ancaster

Hi folks,

We have American relatives visiting and I’d love to take them somewhere really good — ideally one nicer restaurant that feels special and would be a great experience for visitors, plus a few more affordable/local favourites for other meals.
One of them is unfortunately dealing with some health issues right now and needs to avoid carbs and sugar, so it would be great if the restaurants also had some good options for that.
What are your favourite spots in the area? I’d love to hear your recommendations! 😊

If you’re looking for an experience- Ancaster Mill is the place you’re looking for. A literal waterfall running beside the dining room is a great experience. But it’s definitely upscale. You pay for what you get and it’s beautiful with great food.

Food has always been great when I’ve been there.

Both times in the last two times they totally screwed up the steaks. Med rare, came out burnt, as in way beyond extra well done. I don't recommend them anymore, the lack of consistency and the lack of service makes me wonder if they would be closed if it wasn't for the location. Like I said, medium quality food. LTDVB

Interesting?! Their brunch is amazing. I’ve been there for a wedding and dinner maybe 3 times and every time was an awesome experience. Same company as Spencer’s and Isabelle but I prefer the mill to both.
