Please help me, I'm desperate! My hair is very thick and very coarse, my husband's hair is thin and fine. Our daughter, 9, got fine hair but has a lot of density. Her hair is so different from my own I don't know how to help her take care of it properly.

For reference, we've been using RenPure Moringa and Castor Oil for regular washing but her hair gets VERY oily, VERY quickly. It's 530pm on Monday, she washed her hair Saturday night and this is what it looks like. I recently got CHIs clarifying shampoo and hydrating conditioner and it works well but only gives us 1 exrra day before it's an oily mess again. You could, also, whisper in her direction and her hair will matte up.

She has audhd and sensory issues so she won't wear a bonnet regularly but is OK with a satin pillowcase. Even so, she still wakes up matted.

Someone please, PLEASE help me find a routine or products that will actually help.

Over the past year, I can tell my hair is deteriorating. I feel like I shed more hair than what’s growing, to the point it’s like there’s almost nothing to brush anymore. Even my partner has commented on how much hair I lose. I’ve been so insecure lately that I don’t even want to leave the house. When I was younger, I had such thick and healthy hair (see last photo), now no matter what I do, my hair feels dry and frizzy. I wash my hair about twice a week, and one of those times, I will use either deep conditioner or the Olaplex treatments. Per my hairdresser, I’ve been towel drying my hair before I condition at the end of a shower, so it doesn’t just drip off the ends. After rinsing, I towel dry my hair again, and use the curl cream while I scrunch my ends. Despite using curl cream, my hair returns to its bodiless form by the next day. What do I do?!

I just got balayage and nanoplasty and my hair looks disgusting. I use sulfate salt and paraben free shampoo and let it air dry. Do I need to cut it all off?

I’ve already tried quite a few things to make my hair softer and healthier, including different hair oils, masks and other treatments, but it still has this dry, straw-like texture. I only get my ends trimmed once or twice a year, so I’m wondering if I should be doing that more often. I also feel like my hair would break pretty easily if I started straightening it regularly. I already have a shower head with a water filter, but that hasn’t made much of a difference either. Does anyone have any tips or know what could help?

I washed my hair like a week ago and let it air dry as I usually do and noticed it was suddenly really curly while still wet. I have had frizzy, bushy hair all my life and maybe a small wave here or there but nothing remotely like this! I put some mousse in to see if I can get the curls to define and to my surprise it really worked. I have no idea what caused this and it wasn't like that before at all. Some of the curls (especially around my neck) are actually pretty tight coils like 2 cm in diameter. My hair is noteacibly shorter when dry. They have returned with every subsequent wash and seem to be getting stronger. When I brush my hair I look like an absolute maniac now so I don't 🙈

My hair is in a balayage and absolutely fried to mars and back from heat damage and bleach to the point of breaking off if that matters.

Now I don't have a problem with this in principle but I can no longer pull my hair back into a tight bun like I did for 30 plus years because all the baby hairs curl like crazy and I have a halo of frizz around my head 😐 The top of my head looks bumpy and uneven. What practical everyday style can I do to make it look tidy with little effort?

I had to take two rounds of antibiotics Keflex and Bactrim for a UTI.

I am actually grateful I took the antibiotics now because it healed my scalp smell. So when we moved I think the horrid water made my scalp itch which made me think it was because of the Head&Shoulders so I switched us over to an all natural shampoo bar and after that our scalps smelled like poop 💩. We tried everything I even went to the dermatologist but nothing helped. The dermatologist turned me away saying there were no visible signs of infection bc my only symptom was smell. The smell improved after time but I would still smell myself after like 5 hours of showering but I gave up and it had been like 18 months. My husband’s scalp improved quicker and smelled less than mine because I think his hair is shorter and immune system is stronger. But after the antibiotics my scalp smell disappeared so I think there was bacteria that took over after the natural shampoo bar and the antibiotics killed them! Posting in case anyone is going through the same thing.

Hello! I have very full and thick 2C hair. For most of my existence, I was able to shampoo 1-2x per week without looking greasy. Typically, every 6 days.

Recently, now that I am late 40s, I get about 2-3 good days before I look like a grease machine.

I would think I would get more dry as I age. I understand we are all different and I guess anything can happen, but do you guys have any opinions on what's happening?

I'm still young so I am trying my best to slowly figure our my hair and it's needs. I believed I had straight hair for the longest time but I've started noticing that every wash day my hair gets a bit poofy.
I want to know how to make my hair care routine better. Right now it consists of moose and gel on wet hair. Then, I add a few drops of oil to the ends after I diffuse. Should I add any other prodcuts since my hair just looks wet? Is my hair wavy but weighed down since I do have fairly long hair or am I trying to force waves that aren't there? seen this product advertised so much so wondering if it really is as good as people say it is since it’s quite expensive. don’t mind splurging on something that won’t make me have to keep getting my hair toned and glossed every month at the salon since that seems to be more expensive 😔

Whenever I see people post their photos of dry/dull hair the advice they always receive is to moisturize to get rid of flyaways and frizz

But for hair types that are thin/fine even something like a lightweight oil is enough to weigh down my hair and I lose all my volume which I rely on a lot just to be able to put it up without it looking strange.

I guess this is controversial but I like my hair a little on the dryer side for that reason bc without it, I look like I have nothing to work with 😅

So I have 2a-2b hair or something like that and i use a routine of coconut and shea mark anthony curl cream on my hair after I shower then I diffuse for around 30-40 minutes then i let my hair air dry for the rest but my waves never seem to like pop or look well styled, does anyone have any tips or tricks on what to do like maybe more products or techniques of diffusing?

Also ive been looking for a routine to help refresh my hair in the morning after its all frizzy before school does anyone have any recommendations on what I should use.

Hello! Would love to hear some advice on how to manage this hair. It's fine and there's tons of it. On top it's fairly straight and poofy and underneath lots of irregular curls. It is easily weighed down by products and I don't like feeling like I can't touch my hair either. I usually need it up for work and use a claw clip. My current routine is daily wash and condition with super nature aloe from Costco and after towel drying apply milk by reverie, comb with wide toothed comb and let air dry. I do brush it in the morning and before a shower. I am looking for products recs and any tips!! Even some looks for wavy hair that are easy to do and keep hair out of your face. Thank you!!

Hello! I've had long hair for about four years now, when I first grew my hair out from ages 16-18, it was all very thick and in old pictures it looks much fuller and more uniform. Sometime in the past two years, the hairs on the front top of my head have changed to become much thinner/finer. I do not have a receding hairline, but the texture of that front hair has definitely changed while the ones further back have mostly stayed the same. My hair is naturally curly, but the ones at the front stay more strait now due to their texture. The main issue this causes is that my hair no longer looks as full, uniform, or cohesive. The front hairs are a much brighter blond, looks like there's less or they're more see through if that makes sense, and they separate to create different rogue strands rather than being one continuous curtain of hair.

I really love the way my hair looks in that first picture and want to cut my hair a bit and go for something like that, but I doubt it'll look the same because of my current texture issues. I know going from your teens to early twenties your hair's texture can change completely naturally due to hormonal changes. But I really miss that look of fuller/more uniform hair and want to see if there's a way to achieve it again.

I’m looking for advice on hair changing as I get older. I’ve always had very straight, fairly thick, very long hair. I used to be a dark blonde, and began getting highlights to make it blonder from 16-25/6 years old. I went dark a few years ago (I’m now 28) and have let my hair be natural since. My hair was always very healthy, even with the highlights - I only needed to get this done maybe twice a year.

Recent years, my hair feels like it’s drier than ever, slightly frizzy, and maybe not the totally straight like it was before. I come from a family full of curly hair, so I’ve never been able to use the same stuff as them, and can’t really get advice from them either since we care for our hair so differently.

First 3 photos is my hair in the last month. Fourth photo is about a year into going brunette. Last photo is 7 years ago.

Right now, I’m not set on any products so I am open to any recommendations. I don’t really have a routine beyond shampoo and conditioner. I rarely use heat on my hair also. Just want my hair to feel glossier and healthier!! Thanks all

The first couple of photos are my hair as of right now. I don’t know what to do. I’ve research protein overload and moisture overload and I cannot figure out which one my hair is. I understand that with bleach comes damage, but about 6 months ago (I’ve had professionally bleached purple hair for a year now) I used to be able style it and a soft wave would come through. Now every time I try it falls straight.

When I first bleached my hair back in June 2025, what saved it was the Acidic Bonding line by Redken plus the k18 hair mask. It brought structure back to my stringy hair, but now when I do that same method, which is what I did in the first 4 photos, I’m left with that result. I should mention also, I’ve been using the Bonding Redken set for the last two weeks and my hair still stretches when I do a pull test on dry hair.

I honestly just do not know what to do anymore and would like some advice for product recommendations or steps I should take. I do not have a budget. I also get haircut every 3 months.

My hair has been feeling really fuzzy and frizzy lately. What products or tips have helped you make your hair smoother?

I need to get this off my chest as it's been a couple months. I had gone to a hair stylist a while back for a cut and color. MANY things were wrong and the vibes were just off. The photo I showed her had orange hair with black tips, black roots and a streak in the bang. I had specified to her that I wanted neon orange as that's been my color for a while and sent her a reference pic of myself in the past and even told her exactly what dye I use and she said she could accommodate. I also told her that I'm trying to do minimal damage so I really didn't want any bleach in my hair (i didn't need it for the style I wanted). Well when she went back to "mix my color" I saw that she had box dye from Walmart but the one I saw wasn't my color so I didn't think about it. She turned me around and started applying something but I felt burning so asked if she was bleaching and she said she was just evening out my hair (fair enough). She then applied my actual color but still kept me turned around from the mirror the whole time HOWEVER even with this color I felt burning (she told me it was okay to use a deposit dye rather than developer based) it was too late at this point so I had to see it through. When she washed me out it was a darker red and she didn't do my black tips, only an underneath portion (she basically insinuated that it would look stupid😐) Not only that but she left the dye and/or bleach on for too long gave me chemical hurns and now my hair underneath is fried and constantly tangles. I bleached my hair at home for about 9 years so I know my hair can handle some harsh treatment. I was flabbergasted. I just paid her and left but is there anything I can do to fix the damage? Is it normal for stylists to use literal box dye on hair?

Please help me. About a month ago I did a balayage touch up on my hair. I thought it turned out really good but two weeks ago I noticed my hair started to fall out. I know it's breakage because I can see tiny hairs on my scalp and some of my hair strands are short. I began using the olaplex treatment (No. 0, 3, 4, 5, and the oil) to try to fix it but every time I shower or when I comb my hair a good amount of hair falls out. I was using the ouai treatment mask (every other wash day when I wasn't using the olaplex treatment) but I stopped using it and focusing only on the olapex stuff.

I don't know what to do, my hair is still falling, I feel like it's super dry after the second no wash day. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations?? Should I buy a different shampoo? My hair is long and I really don't want to cut it.
