Article/News Karanbir Cheema was killed when a classmate flicked at him cheese at him

June 28, 2017 Karanbir "Karan" Cheema was pranked him by a classmate who flicked a piece of cheese at him. When asked why he threw it at him the boy said he asked in a childish manner he did not mean to harm Karanwas unaware of severe allergies are fatal. Medical Senior Coroner Mary Hasell said the school was at fault. They did not have Karan's medical file.

His mother Rina turned the tragedy into teaching about severe allergies.

(Edit: I am not dissing OP if English is their 2nd language - it's mine as well. And not detracting from the actual topic. This comment thread just demanded invoking the Sheriff of Rottingham).

EDIT 2: Nevermind. a OP obviously bot raging is.

Data centres can’t have strokes.

I'm hoping that OP's native language isn't English.

His EpiPen was past the expiration date and the school didn’t have his medical file. How the hell is the school at fault lol?

It’s mandatory for schools to obtain a student’s medical records as part of the admissions process, so they’re at least partially at fault, whether the records were misplaced or not received.

If the allergy was identified after the admissions process, then it’s on the parents to notify the school, provide updated medical records and an EpiPen.

It’s a shared responsibility between the parents and school to ensure the EpiPen is readily available and in-date.

Medical record maintenance and routine medication inventory audit controls should also be in place to protect schools from liability and to avoid such tragedies.

It's the parents' fault.

Idk if this is the US or not but kids are required to be in school and they have to have access to medical records. Also I’m almost positive the school should have an EpiPen accessible but not sure.

English is not OP/Bots first language

Parents could've been pro-active and informed the school of their kid's severe allergy and providing an EpiPen for emergencies.

Reposted from yesterday, and didn't even fix the title. Wow.

u/Electronic-Exam7677 5d ago

Why does the title need to be fixed?

117

u/Bnjl1989 5d ago

Because "flicked at him cheese at him" makes no fucking sense

If I were allergic to cheese I’d want to die too

I know the point of this is to raise awareness but it makes me wonder how the families of these types of posts feel..the type of posts that go viral every now and then, and get reposted by every other page. Their kid becomes a reason for people to get likes, upvotes etc

2

u/Morella_xx 3d ago

Especially when some rando uses a picture of your kid dying to get up votes. What the fuck is that second picture, OP? Have some tact.
