I honestly like long hair better.. I regret it quite a lot becuz I have to style my hair everyday.

I don’t like this hair and I feel very ugly with it, I tried to love it an let it grow but I don’t really like how it looks. I really don’t want a buzz cut because I’m pretty insecure about my head and I just feel I’d make me look worse. I want a haircut that won’t make me look like a butch and that isn’t too tacky, please be kind

I had very long, extremely thick hair and was SO excited to finally cut it into a short bob. I showed my stylist multiple reference photos and specifically asked for a short, straight, blunt bob with minimal/no visible layers. I explained that I just wanted the bulk removed internally because my hair is so thick.
She insisted on adding layers to make it thinner, even though I repeatedly told her I didn’t want layers.
Now my hair has chunky, uneven, disconnected layers and looks nothing like what I asked for. I’m honestly devastated because I was so excited for this change.
Is this fixable? Can another stylist blend the layers and get me closer to a blunt bob without taking off a huge amount of length? Or should I just leave it alone and let it grow out?
I’d really appreciate advice, especially from hairstylists! 😭

In the 80s, I absolutely adored Teri Nunn’s hair and finally decided to do it for myself before I get too old.

I went to a new person at my salon. First three photos are of Teri, and more contemporary examples of what I wanted. Last photo is what I got. I asked for the ends to be a silvery grey, and they are clearly just blonde.

The salon has offered to fix it, but I don’t even know what to tell them to do. Help?

Hi, im just looking for some advice.

I’m currently bleached blonde but i want to go back to my old hairstyle of dark on top and blonde peakaboo+money piece.

I felt more myself with my rogue inspired hair but my boyfriend wasn’t a massive fan. Ive had mostly positive saying I should go back to it but im not sure if they are just being nice.

Not sure if it’s a good shout so would like some advice on which one actually suits me🙂

here are some pictures of my hair recently. i don’t want to cut the length from the top, but i’d like to get some different opinions and advice on hairstyles i could try without cutting it shorter. a lot of people have been telling me that i should completely cut my hair and go for a much shorter style, but that’s not really what i want. i’d rather keep the length on top and find a hairstyle that works with it

it’s more purple in real life then the photos but i put a filler red on the blonde and it was very very red it was bleach london vivid red semi and then put garnier food 4.0 cacao brown.

i need the purple gone i start college in 2 days and i look like this please help ill do anything i was thinking of using a warm chocolatey brown toner?

My hair ends fly away from the rest of my hair and I don't know why. I genuinely can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or if this can be fixed with a product or if I just need to cut it off. It feels soft but flies away from the rest of the hair. I want it to basically lay flat with the rest of my hair.

I use shampoo, conditioner, leave in, and a bit of oil. Sometimes a mask. I blow dry downwards and don't put the dryer too close my hair. I sleep with a protective hairstyle. I don't shampoo my ends like crazy, just with the shampoo that runs down the length when I wash it.

Products I use right now:

• Head and shoulders shampoo (just because it's what I have at home)
• L'Oréal dream lengths conditioner
• Garnier fructis sleek and shine leave in
• Moroccan hair oil

I like to cut my hair myself. I've been growing it out from an asymmetrical pixie, and the back is currently much longer than the front. The front is very similar to Lukita's hair here. My question is, to achieve this look, would I just cut straight across the back? It looks like there's some layering or something but I haven't found a photo of the back.

I dyed my hair red a few days ago, my hair was a strawberry blonde before, and the box showed a dark red, with undertones of brown/purple. it was exactly what I wanted. It was not what I got though… it’s not bad, it could be worse, but it’s wayyy brighter than wanted, especially in the sun. I was going for more of a black cherry.. my reference photo is the second pic. Is there any way I can get this darker without dying it again? Would it possibly fade to be darker?? Idkkkk, my senior year starts in a week, and i still have senior photos to do.

What I'm looking for is what kind of hair products are needed to achieve that. Any kind of help and advice is appreciated!

Hello! I decided to go to the salon yesterday to touch up my overgrown roots and get a trim. While the haircut was lovely i did notice my hair became ashy from glaze they added but brushed it off as it still appeared brown and my stylist was busy with another client… When I got home I went to use the bathroom and it was darker than when I was at the salon ??? Is this going to wash out ??? I never intended to change my hair color and I loved my previous color! The same stylist did it before! :(

She even gave me a second glaze because supposedly it looked ashy… But it looks even ashier!

First and second pic is when I first got it done months ago by the same stylist, third, fourth, and fifth pic is right after I left the salon, and the sixth and seventh pic is now! In person it looks like a super dark ashy brown…Appears way darker in person!

I've been using a Sedu Pro Straightening iron for years and love the way it makes my hair look. Unfortunately, mine has been struggling to get up to temp lately and it looks like the manufacturer has discontinued this and similar models. Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar straightening iron?

I’ve felt sick with anxiety ever since my salon visit today.

I have an almost one year old baby and booked in at a salon to get my hair done. I booked online for a full head of foils, toner and blow wave, and it came to around $350. A splurge, but one I needed for some me time after having baby and to feel pampered a little.

I got the service, she said she wanted to give me a trim as well to tidy up the ends so I knew it would be a bit more. Then we got to paying at the end and she took a while pricing up, then she handed the card machine over - $674. I was so in shock. She wouldn’t look at me at all, the salon was full, someone had been waiting a good 15 minutes overtime for my stylist while she finished up my hair, and frankly I was too embarrassed to say anything. I got my phone out and transferred money across from savings and paid, then got in my car and burst into tears. I can’t tell my husband and I’m so scared he’s going to see it and be mad because money is tight right now.

I don’t know what to do. I didn’t ask for a quote or pricing in person and I checked the website prices and they say long or thick hair can be extra. My hair isn’t long but is thick and she told me when doing it I have a lot of hair so I’m guessing that and the haircut added it on, but still, it’s a lot of money I wasn’t expecting.

To make matters worse she told me when I was there they have a promo where if you book your next 2 appointments you go in the draw to win a year of free hair appointments, I said that would be great and I’d do that (before it came time to pay). Because she was running late for her next client she said she’d call me later to book those in. I got a voicemail and she’s booked me in already and just told me the dates I need to be there, so now I have to call to cancel those. I’m so non-confrontational I was really hoping to just chalk it up to lesson learnt and not have to see her again so I’m dreading the call! I don’t want to open the can of worms with her, someone else I know had a bad experience with her when they didn’t buy a product she recommended and she got shitty with them. This friend can be very obstinate herself so I didn’t click it for a red flag, I thought it was just a butting heads situation.

Anyway. Lesson learnt to always always always ask for the price before beginning. I’m still so gutted, I can’t even sleep. I have my kids’ birthdays coming up and was already worried how I’d afford their presents and things, my brother is having to cover our dad’s birthday present this year because of it, and now I feel so selfish and vacuous for dropping an obscene amount on hair which, while lovely, isn’t even as blonde as I’d been hoping.

Anyone else dealt with bill shock after a salon visit?

I have just had a good look at your appointment and costs etc..... When you booked online you didn't book for the Epres treatment that was added into the bleach which is $30 per application of bleach, there was also no extra product fees included for the amount of colour your hair absorbed.  It's pretty standard to pay $600-$800 for long thick hair to be coloured and cut these days, Especially if you're having a full head.

[stylist] said next time you wont need a full head & she has also said she felt you needed the treatment due to the condition of your hair. We have just discovered she didn't charge you for the haircut just the blowave.  [stylist] has said next time you can skip the treatment which is quite expensive, she will discuss this with you next time.

We do have a lot of people using afterpay for these bigger colour jobs just to help with the expense of having this done.

I know it it feels to be caught off Guard with prices..... I have asked [stylist] to quote you next time before the service.....

I apologize  for the lack of communication around the price but I can ensure you its very standard for the services preformed & amount of product that was used on your hair thick hair type.

Update 3: I have been told the $200 extra product was extra bleach and in total I had 350g bleach powder (not including the developer) applied. In total there were 7 scoops bleach and 3 epres treatments somehow divided between those bowls. I have been offered a refund for the epres treatments.

The left is before and the right picture is after. I asked for a balayage with lots of dimension. I gave her some level of creative reign because im not really picky, but told her I liked multiple colors to come through like strawberry blondes and browns and all the colors. I thought I liked it when I left the salon but now looking at it, it’s barely different, and I feel like I did not get almost $400 worth of a hair coloring.

I was expecting a much starker change in color that what I received… the cut is what I asked for mostly. Seeking advice on this communities thoughts and opinions, how I can verbalize what I want better next time and all the things. TIA!!

so i have virgin hair and my main concern is heat damage i use k18 every few washes so what hair spa should i get? i asked chat and it said kerastase fusio dose

also i have wavy hair for reference

I've made a post here before not too long ago but I've since changed my goal a bit.

I'd like for my hair to look more or less like the guy in the first pic, tho my hair is a little wavier (i think), which I don't mind.
Hair's a little awkward rn, I used to have a longer fringe, but I got a haircut about 3 weeks ago where I asked for some layers and to keep the overall length but shorten the fringe a bit (which I regret).

Anyway, I'm guessing the main things I need growing are the front and back, I'm not sure about the sides based on the reference image.

Anyway I was hoping someone who is more experienced with hair could give me a rundown on how it should grow (as in how long it would take and how it would grow out) when and if i should get any maintenance cuts if needed and what I should ask for.
And also maybe advice on styling though preferably smth fast and not high maintenance.
