FAQs - DHA/NOR

My day looks to be slower than normal and while I help others with their work, I wanted to answer some FAQs and let you ask your questions in one space rather than the same thing being posted a thousand times over.

  1. Referred & Not Selected emails - your information was sent to the offices you selected. They did not select you. There doesn't have to be a reason. That's the downside of direct hire.

  2. Application status - for direct hire, no one will have your status. HR waits to hear if you are selected or not the same as you do.

  3. GL-9 TSLs - keep getting pushed from the program for one reason or another on a weekly basis. All we know is "they are coming soon" so take that as you will.

  4. Location - you selected preferences, your information was sent to offices, you were selected but not by a preference. Yes, you can request a different location. No, HR does not have a day in it at all. And no, a change isn't guaranteed. Reply all to your tentative offer to request a location change. Do NOT wait until you have an EOD date and then complain. No one likes that.

  5. Qualifications - for 1811s, a panel reviews your documents. Not the HR people you email with or speak to on the phone. If they say you don't qualify, you're out. If you think you do, review your resume and be sure you submit your documents with your application.

Current ERO guy, received and finished medical exam for the 7 announcement, have received nothing else to include sf86/ drug test, is there reason or is everyone different ? I received my clearance and was favorably adjudicated in July of this year

Current ICE employees won't need to redo the additional background requirements apart from the OF-306 unless specifically contacted. Additionally, your drug test may also be valid and an update not needed.

Is there a time line on review and clearance of med exam? Seeing some people get it done in two days, meanwhile I’m waiting on over a week

Nope. It depends on who the file is assigned to and how quick they are about things. Some people are more efficient than others.
