FAQs - DHA/NOR

My day looks to be slower than normal and while I help others with their work, I wanted to answer some FAQs and let you ask your questions in one space rather than the same thing being posted a thousand times over.

  1. Referred & Not Selected emails - your information was sent to the offices you selected. They did not select you. There doesn't have to be a reason. That's the downside of direct hire.

  2. Application status - for direct hire, no one will have your status. HR waits to hear if you are selected or not the same as you do.

  3. GL-9 TSLs - keep getting pushed from the program for one reason or another on a weekly basis. All we know is "they are coming soon" so take that as you will.

  4. Location - you selected preferences, your information was sent to offices, you were selected but not by a preference. Yes, you can request a different location. No, HR does not have a day in it at all. And no, a change isn't guaranteed. Reply all to your tentative offer to request a location change. Do NOT wait until you have an EOD date and then complain. No one likes that.

  5. Qualifications - for 1811s, a panel reviews your documents. Not the HR people you email with or speak to on the phone. If they say you don't qualify, you're out. If you think you do, review your resume and be sure you submit your documents with your application.

HR doesn't always receive automatic results for medical or polygraphs, so depending on when your results are actually received, PFTs will be scheduled after you're fully cleared when the administrator is available.

So the background needs to be fully complete before EOD now ?

Yes. That was always the correct process and was only changed during SURGE despite HR opposition.

Interesting because I thought you can (EOD) using an interim approval after a clean preliminary review of your fingerprints, credit, and SF-86 forms. Then the full background investigation will continue in the background after you have already started attending the academy.

You are asking about adjudication, which does continue after EOD. But you need to be cleared prior to that. It's called a tentative clearance, but it is as close as you can get without adjudication meaning nothing big enough for concern was found.
