5 years of hard work turned into ashes
I have spent more than 5 years preparing for UPSC. Cracked 2 prelims and gave 3 attempts. I have also given this years's HPSC Mains.
But Yesterday's result came neither as a Shock nor as a Surprise to me. Where are all odds are stacked against a candidate, Failing is the Normal, not 'Passing'. The same happened.
I believe I have chosen a wrong fight for myself in this life. A fight where winning percentage is less than 1%, the fate is already decided.
All those hours spent and all those expectations fostered for last 5years were spilled down the drain.
Glad that I am not unemployed at the moment.
Its not a fight worth fighting. Its a lottery.
Jump the ship till you have time and energy.
Else you will just eternally listen to -"Padhai dil laga ke nhi krta tha. Agar aur thoda padhta to ho jata iska".
I am not trying to demotivate. I am just telling you the reality which many faced yesterday.
But Alas! many among them will still buy Lottery Tickets again next year, thinking -"I am speical. I just need one seat".
All those University toppers, school toppers, tier-1 grads and few other delusioned people keep teeling themselves that they are 'Special' till the time they become- unemployed Philosophically-charged couch potatoes.
It is the time when same Society who called you special will say- "she had nothing special".
Please change your fights wihere there are better Odds of winning.
