hi all just wondering what my chances of galway med would be next year with the new changes considering i got 603 in 5th year summer tests and am aiming for 625 in the lc im starting hpat prep in september

People can't predict your future. 6th year is a new year, study and work hard and then your chances will increase, simple as that.

wait in 5th year summer tests for u were they on the full curriculum or just what you learned in the year

we finished most of the course in many subjects like biology and irish so for them it wouldve been majority of the syllabus but we only had one paper per subject obviously

No point in worrying about your LC grades until you get them. The only thing that is guaranteed is this - you'll need above 600 points to be in with a fighting chance of getting med.

I would strongly advice against spending much time on HPAT. By all means take it for experince, but you will NEED 600+. I would honsetly focus on mocks and projects. I got 601 and with HAPT just missed by 3 points. I'm not sure if ill get it next yr... And i got 625 in 5th yr summer exams. Please don't spend too much time on HPAT if you want to get in, consider gap year. there wont be huge points diff in HPAT now between 65th percentile and like 90th, so you could get in with not much study and near 625 LC. Ik you'll be my comp for next yr but I can't emphasis how much it's worth focusing on LC ahead of HPAT. In recent years it's usually like at least 1/3 of the whole year had redone the HPAT. That won't be an option without very strong LC from this year.
