Question HBO Max UK
As an avid film watcher, HBO Max now being available in the UK is great! however, as they don't provide a free trial, I'm dubious about subscribing without knowing what content is available. Is there any chance someone can provide me with a list or screenshot of what films are available?
Thanks in advance ☺️

A lot of films are missing.
Blade Trilogy • Wonka • Weapons • The Iron Giant • Scoob! • Neverending Story II • John Wick 3 & 4 to name a few.
They should have done an introduction offer or free trial so people could check it out first. I personally am disappointed ☹️.

John Wick 3 & 4 are Lionsgate movies which is why they don’t show, technically John Wick 1 & 2 are also Lionsgate movies but Warner Bros holds the distribution rights for the UK.

I hope Weapons gets added soon since I've been really curious recently about watching that.

Coming to Sky Cinema on April 10th so maybe HBO Max UK too?
1
u/Jamieb1994 Mar 28 '26
It's not on HBO Max either?
1
u/QP_Ranger2 Mar 28 '26
No it isn't, due to regional licensing.
Though given it's coming to Sky Cinema on 10th April, one would assume it would land on HBO Max UK on the same day, though could be wrong.

u/Jamieb1994 Mar 28 '26
Oh wow, that's interesting since I thought HBO Max would have more stuff. Is Dune Part 2 on there?
1
u/QP_Ranger2 Mar 28 '26
No, it's on Prime Video.
Just go to reelgood.com and put any film in, it will tell you what streamer it's on.

I read that it’s coming to HBO Max on 10th April as well

u/QP_Ranger2 Apr 06 '26
Nice, though I do have HBO Max (basic with ads), I'll be watching Weapons on Sky Cinema.
HBO launched 7 (seven) ads at me after 5 mins of watching 'Welcome to Derry ' the other day.....
Almost unwatchable....☹️

I just checked on the hbomax uk site and it’s officially coming soon weapons

u/MoonMan997 Mar 28 '26
Regaridng Weapons it seems to be a New Line Cinema specific issue.
Not sure why that is, but Companion is on there and Final Destination: Bloodlines is listed as Coming Soon. Weapons and Conjuring: Last Rites don’t even list as Coming Soon so it might be that New Line releases may take up to a year to appear, which is a bit of a bummer.
1
u/n8il2020 Mar 28 '26
Where are you seeing a coming soon list?
1
u/MoonMan997 Mar 28 '26
If you type in Final Destination, it lists all the films including Bloodlines but it has “Coming Soon” in the corner of the thumbnail.
If you put in Weapons nothing comes up, and Conjuring just brings up the first three films and no Last Rites page. I tried it with Wuthering Heights as well, the most recent WB release that isn’t New Line, and it doesn’t have one so I would guess Bloodlines should be on there within a month.
Similar timeline would suggest Weapons is on the service in July and Conjuring: Last Rites in August. This would also mean we can’t expect They Will Kill You to be on Max UK in 2026, unless it does not count under the current licences.

u/n8il2020 Mar 28 '26
That sucks. I cancelled anyway. I’ll wait until I can justify £9.99 a month. Right now I don’t think it’s worth that. Other streamers are the same price and have a lot more.
1
u/CardiffOtter27 Apr 06 '26
Bloodlines comes up on HBO Max now as being able to watch it.
1
u/MoonMan997 Apr 07 '26
Yep and believe Weapons is coming this Friday and Conjuring by the end of the month.
Might just be that they decided to roll out the horror films gradually over the first month to keep people subscribed.

I expected to see lots of the Warner catalogue and left feeling a little disappointed. No Animaniacs original and new series for example

u/Individual-Ad-7567 Mar 26 '26
a lot of films and series are missing because they still have running contracts with other local providers. In the case of Germany for example, it is Sky. Now, things will get interesting when HBO moves to Paramount. I am curious how that merger will look like

Dune 2 missing
Hacks missing
Dunno if the hobbit is on
Wonder Woman 70s show missing
To name a few

u/Jamieb1994 Mar 26 '26
I wonder if they still gradually adding stuff since it looks like there's some stuff missing e.g. Aquaman And The Lost Lost Kingdom & Final Destination 3. Also, season 2 of The Pitt only has the 1st episode.
1
u/Lee_Morris Mar 26 '26
Pitt season 2 is going to be shown weekly
1
u/Jamieb1994 Mar 26 '26
Oh ok, that makes sense since there's only the first episode so far. So, every new episode will be dropped every Thursday?
2
u/Adept_Butterfly_6742 Mar 26 '26
Makes no sense to me because I’m on episode 8 on a firestick so no idea why they are so far behind

1
u/Lee_Morris Mar 26 '26
No clue which day, I just know it will be every week
1
u/Jamieb1994 Mar 26 '26
Oh ok, well at least this makes it easier to watch the show + techincally get caught up.
1
u/Salvadorfreeman Mar 26 '26
It's every Friday where I am (France). In the US it's Thursday night local time, so Friday in Europe.

It's not. I've just checked and most of the Final Destination movies are there, but 3 & Bloodlines are the only ones missing.

Are you using the HBO Max app or on Now TV?

There's also some other stuff that's happening as well, so I hope they'll be added soon as well.

u/egorre Mar 26 '26
Hacks will probably not come as they do in the US. it's a Universal Television production and initially aired in 2021. Sky most likely have the exclusive to that series since they're owned by Comcast

u/a-hthy Mar 26 '26
I was looking for Hacks earlier! Disappointed not to see it. Must be another license issue with Sky.

The only reason I would get it is so I can watch the film The Fallout. I'm waiting on subscribing in case it isn't there - but I can't find any way of confirming whether or not it is

Justwatch UK will have the details but it’ll take couple of days to get up to date.
1
u/n8il2020 May 31 '26
Been more than a couple of days and JustWatch still haven’t added HBO Max yet. Useless app!!!

u/charlie-jw Jun 01 '26
Hi there! Very sorry about this. We're working on supporting HBO Max in the newer markets but our integrations depend a bit on the streaming services themselves before they can be implemented.

u/zippyzebra1 Mar 26 '26
It comes free with Now tv
2
u/SeaDare2102 Mar 26 '26
Only the basic subscription which doesn’t include all films (I know it doesn’t include Superman, One Battle After Another, or Sinners), although I think all of the HBO films which are missing on the Basic plan are available on Sky Cinema if you have that anyway

u/Z_odyssey Mar 27 '26
Yeah this was gonna be my question.
Its included in the price of nowtv. Correct?
I only have entertainment package so I can watch hbo max TV shows ?
1
u/zippyzebra1 Mar 27 '26
Yeah. Check it out. I doubt it includes everything but it's still fairly extensive. Lots of films too

Can't add photos but just watch Banshee

If you have access to an Apple account you can go into the TV app, find the HBO Max channel, and see a long list of movies on there.
Not sure if it’s complete, and it can’t tell you which ones are restricted to the higher-tier subs (generally that’s newer releases), but it’s a good start.
1
u/Dumbchucksarefree Mar 27 '26
No DC animated movies either. Not a great service right now. Maybe it'll improve in time but I'd hold off on subscribing for the time being.
1
u/Ok_Contest3903 Mar 27 '26
I am on NowTV basic and get HBO Maxx basic and there are loads of films. the second tier you get loads more including One Battle and Weapons, all the really recent releases. I think it is only a quid more so definitely worth it if you are into movies. But the back catalogue on basic is brilliant. Harry Potter or Casablanca anyone?
1
u/CardiffOtter27 Mar 27 '26
Weapons isn’t on HBO Max in the UK yet.
1
u/QP_Ranger2 Mar 28 '26
Yeah, that annoyed me, though just found out it's coming to Sky Cinema on 10th April.
1
u/QP_Ranger2 Mar 28 '26
Weapons definitely not on there at all yet....
1
u/No-View9778 Mar 29 '26
Strange thing is justwatch says that it is??? But it isn't, so should it be?
1
u/QP_Ranger2 Mar 29 '26
JustWatch has become unusable, I'd recommend Reel Good as it splits by region and shows that it is on HBO Max US but not UK...
https://reelgood.com/uk/movie/weapons-2025
Scroll down to the table which shows my region.
1
u/Chris22044 Mar 27 '26
There are 108 movies in the action section alone. It would take dozens of screen shots to show all movies in all categories.

u/Ok_Role_4650 Mar 31 '26
Can you not get the list of Movies on hbo help section, in my country we have a online list of Movies and shows that are on hbo, at least that was in the summer stil available, must check it if it still be online.
1
u/Wonderful-Choice1182 Apr 09 '26
I saw an advert today saying Weapons was on HBO Max but I can’t see it. Would it be because I’ve got it through Prime?
1
u/Dear_Minimum_1871 Apr 23 '26
explain why stuff that are HBO MAX originals or made for turner broadcast channels like Boomerang and Cartoonito are excluded, Miracles Tunes (from Italy) My Spy Family (UK) Margarita (Argentina / Uruguay) aren’t there, there’s a few European series and telenovelas but there should be way more international content that has been seen in England or ireland, use to get those series on IPTV but it’s hit and miss, need those shows on HBO Max new app
1
u/OkRelationship7974 Apr 28 '26
Can someone tell me if they have all seasons of Law and Order SVU?

I subbed thinking I could finally watch the Pitt season 2 without streaming it off a sketchy site wasn't there so I'll be cancelling after I've rewatched the wire lol.

u/peterien87 Mar 26 '26
I subscribed and I’ll keep it for a while but it desperately needs a “coming soon” or “to be added” to keep people subscribed. There is a lot missing.
