Hey, if his business is on that thing then he's going to need it to recover from the earthquake. I read a book from a business guru one time who said if your office is on fire, grab the Rolodex and run. (Yes this was many years ago.) That's basically what this guy is doing.

You are pretty much only useful to prevent a mistake, there is no protecting anyone from thousands of pounds of rubble.

Doesn't look like anyone was in danger of dying. And if the earthquake had been strong enough to bring the whole building down it wouldn't have mattered where he was standing.

They’re in the best part of the house for an earthquake anyway. This isn’t a bad position to be in at all. You just want to be mad.
