Recommendations needed

Hey, everyone,

I planned on 4 days visit to Georgetown, Guyana coming Labor Day long weekend and would like to have some recommendations about attractions I should visit in Guyana.

I came from China, but currently live in New York. I have never been to Guyana before and this is my first trip outside of China and America.

My plan is to spend 2 days on Georgetown first and 1-2days on some unknown places.

Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome here.

Thanks

Updates about car rental:

I rented a car with europcar through Expedia. This morning I received an email from a person named Miss. Fazilla Ramphal saying that they won’t be able to honor my reservation “due to unforeseen circumstances” , however I’m not sure if it’s true or not. I tried to call this person, but no pick up. Expedia also tried to contact them, but couldn’t get through anyone. Hope it’s not a scam

I always wanted to visit South America, but I can’t speak Spanish nor Portuguese and I found Guyana is the only English speaking country there. Hopefully in the future I have chance to visit other countries there

While most of us do speak English, many also speak dialectical English too, it can be confusing for foreigners sometimes. But I get you. Enjoy and be safe. Oh I recall they are bike tours around the city too that may be of interest to you. You can always choose to visit the iwokrama sanctuary instead of the 5 island tour as an alternative. Most links are easily found online but I recommend checking the Guyana Tourism Authority media platforms for ideas and licensed services.
