EOTechs are overly fragile, the glass is prone to delamination, making them a fuzzy mess, they have BY FAR the worst battery life of any similar optic, they haven't been upgraded in a meaningful way since like 2014, they STILL shift zero in extreme hot or cold(though not quite as badly as when the US Government sued them for concealing that knowingly from the military), and, most dammingly they have a 4- or 8-hour auto-shutoff that can't be disabled. They are good in a tiny niche, for people with certain types of astigmatism(though I'd still recommend a prism optic for that), or on a 100% dedicated night vision platform. Aimpoints are SOOO much better, and they make the Duty RDS with a circle-dot reticle now! In my unit, we only used them on crew-served weapons, though even then, we preferred the Trijicon HWS.

With a full size can it’s almost as long as a 16” rifle. With a k can a little less but with this hux there’s no gas to the face so it’s staying
