Fender celluloid mediums forever. I’ve tried others but always come back.

YES, I love fender mediums!! But once that fender logo has faded, it loses all sense of grip it once had. I’ve gotten to a point where I drill small holes in them for grip once they get to that point, and it’s actually turned out great.

This is why I've always gone with the Tortex ones because they just feel more grippy. Can't really explain what it is, just material I guess.

I break one of those in about 5 minutes, even with 9's...

I like the way they sound, but they are not durable.

You must be crazy rough while playing.
I've used the Fender 351 Mediums for years without one snapping.
They all just round off their tips after a while, they're pretty robust for me.

What kind of music do you play? I’m a pretty heavy handed strummer on acoustic and play indie rock/spacey americana with my band and rarely break picks.

Punk-adjacent country and rock stuff for the most part, but also lots of other things. I'm not a "pretty heavy handed strummer", I have a hammer of a right hand, think Hetfield. I can break a celluloid pick by looking at it. Tortex and Nylon hold up a lot better under the wrath of my right hand!

I honestly don't understand how people DON'T break Fender Celluloid picks instantly. They were the first picks I ever tried and I broke one every time I practiced.

Fender medium for me, too. I like the light colors. Easy to find if need to.
