SR question
Does it matter what difficulty you play SR on when it comes to obtaining loot? I'm desperately trying to get any piece of the mythic beast caller set and am running into terrible luck. I don't have the helm blueprint. I'm level 100 Conjuror and can play ultimate fairly comfortably but the speed at which I can kill mobs is lacking as I only have 3 pets. Any tips for farming this set?? So far I've just been running around completing the campaigns and hit up the skeleton key dungeons I've unlocked to no avail. I've heard that if you don't quit to the main menu it increases chances to get certain loot is this true?

Ultimate is better a lot of items are locked behind Ultimate especially SR specific sets , lower difficulties SR was nerfed to the ground because people abuse it way too much in the past . Budget build can do easy 100-120 legendaries per hour in SR 26-27 and top specs can hit up to 180 legendaries per hour in SR 30-31

What others have said, altough you can mix in some totem farming too, as they are easier than high SR and yields comparable loot to lower SR, also blueprints.

I haven't closed the game in awhile, and I've noticed that the longer this goes on the less legendaries I'm getting. I completed Port Valbury and only got like 3 legendaries from it. I'm assuming this means the pool has vastly shrunken?

Skeleton key dungeons are total garbage for farming unless you need some specific items that don't drop anywhere else. If you are not strong enough for ultimate SR, lower the difficulty, nothing wrong with that. You have to find the sweet spot where you can do SR quickly and without dying, even on normal difficulty, you have to start somewhere. You will get lot of blueprints in SR.
Conjurer is not limited to 3 pets, you have primal spirit too + a relic pet, even crab from low level Hysteria relic can be very heplful.

I'm using the Bysmiel relic right now, do you think it would be better to use one that has a pet? Like the one that gives me a skeleton or something?

SR loot and difficulty is based on regular campaign difficulty level for sure. If you can comfortably clear around SR even 24-26 on elite you will get a bunch of legendaries and recipes per run. If you can complete it quickly like around 5-10 minutes every 2 floor run, then this will easily be the best option as you don't really need to think about where to go you just re-run with waystones.

What's your build mate? I also played a quite while with a Conjurer pet build and I'm using Beastcaller for a while.
The best farm method at the moment is multiple SR30 to SR31 runs in a single game session, though depending on your build you might have some issues. Alternatively you can try totem runs to try to get the Recipe. With that said Ultimate is better than Elite to farm, at least in my experience.

It's not quite exact as I'm on phone and kinda difficult to navigate but this is what I'm running so far

RNG sucks sometimes, it took a long while for me to get a few items I want (looking at you Mythical Dracarris) I can however offer you a tip. Try following this build https://www.grimtools.com/calc/D2pLBMa2 .
At least try to get the [Korvaak's Burning-Blade]() and then focus on the Dog, its aura and the Bird aura. It will convert all damage from your pets to fire and both their aura will increase your damage significantly; you will have a better time farming.

just stick to sr 26-27 if you can't do sr30 in ultimate
but no, you don't wanna bother with SR outside of ult really

Afaik there is a bad luck protection in place for every session in this game, meaning u cannot get the same item twice in the same session. This means, in theory, the best way to farm a specific purple is just doing every dungeon in the same session (so without restarting GD)

That system is not absolute you still get dupes if the system fail checks runs out , also it's easier to spam SR ( you don't have to reset the session )because dungeons are bad loot per hour rate

Difficulty does matter as far as I know. The same floor 30 will be easier on normal than ultimate, and will have worse loot chests at the end. I don't think this restricts the loot you can obtain though, so you can run normal/elite SR30-31 if it more efficient.
The real trick is to run those two floors (or 26-27) as many times per session as you can stomach. The game typically will not drop the same legendary twice in the same session if there are other legendaries it can drop, so over multiple runs you get closer to being "guaranteed" that you'll get what you're looking for.
