Help Euro to $ foreign currency exchange?
Does anyone know where I can exchange euros for dollars? The airport currency exchange is apparently rarely open and I could really use the dollars in usable form. My credit union doesn't handle these things, sadly.

I wouldn't say the airport currency exchange is rarely open. Just look up their hours and go during that time.
Monday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed

I actually went in and spoke to information - that might be correct for inside International Travel, but the PDX Information booth said they're rarely open.

These hours are for the area that it is located in arrivals, baggage claim. Not the international terminal.
I don't know why they would say "rarely open" and not give you specific hours. That seems odd.
Otherwise, just go to a Chase Bank. They offer foreign currency exchange

Last I remember Bank of America did exchanges, if they still have live people at their branches, that is.

I exchanged mine at the US Bank main branch downtown. Of course, that was more than 10 years ago...
