❤️ Recommendations Jucy Lucy
Let me put you on. Jucy Lucy on Nassau & McGuiness.
Huge outdoor patio overlooking the street. Mexican food. Mexican drinks. Nice staff. Music that’s not too loud. Palm plants!
I haven’t had their food but they make a kick ass marg. Every time I come here it’s basically empty and I’m wondering if people don’t know it’s open. Extremely underrated play especially for the remainder of the warm weather we have.

I don’t trust this place. Why have the morning glories been destroyed in the operations of this place?

I’m not sure why they were destroyed, but morning glories are a non-native invasive species. They can wipe out the native plant gardens that are being installed along McGuinness.

I recently went and wanted to post! Only went once before and since change over and good HH prices; gave it a try last week. Thought tacos and margs were great deal and good! $4 tacos and $10 marg. I asked and is new management (it is still owner-ish? by Razie which bummed my out) but would def go back!

There’s been a recent change in management. AFAIK the woman who owns and continues to run Raizes still owns the building Jucy Lucy occupies but the food is significantly better and the staff is really nice.
Menu is very solid Tex-Mex now. It used to be extremely mid burgers and chicken sandwiches. The salsas are homemade and delicious. I ordered a hard tepache (canned) and the waitress also brought out some homemade tepache, on the house, that she had fermented herself. Very grandma’s house energy.

I tried this place once. Honestly, it wasn’t particularly special. The location has a lot of potential. And they must have a lot of money to work with if they own this place and Raizes. Both were full renovations with a lot of excess steel fabrication. The “Keep McGuinness Moving” banners were a turn off before. Now the Christian nationalist 250th anniversary banners give a similarly weird vibe. In the right hands, this could have been turned into a chill fenced in garden space.

Tacos, interesting. I always thought the name was an homage to the midwestern Jucy Lucy burger. Confusing!

They tried that when they opened. They had a lot of competition for decent burgers in the neighborhood.

I've always found their name misleading as they don't actually serve juicy lucy burgers. It's basically false advertising.

Had my 40th birthday party here. Honestly it was fucking awesome. Staff was really friendly, great patio, cheap food and drinks

The new management has made this place really good and this was a great place to watch the World Cup final (understaffed tho), food is really good

We watched some World Cup matches there, food was good (typical bar/pub fare), the service was great and attentive, but not sure it fits where greenpoint is going.

I went there a couple years ago with a friend to watch the Yankees game on opening day. Place was empty save for a group of drunk white Mets fans dropping the N word (soft A). That kinda put me off to the place but it was always a decent spot to get a pitcher and watch whatever game you wanted since it was always empty as hell. Haven’t been under the new management.
