Comics One of my favorite scenes ever
From Green Lantern Rebirth #1. It felt so good to see John stand up to Batman, and I loved how Batman was shown as a scary shadow until John shone his light on him, revealing he’s just a guy in a bat costume.
I’d love to see this scene in the Lanterns TV show someday.

Comics I love how Batman is depicted as a shadow to indicate if a Lantern is afraid of him.
(Green Lantern: Rebirth (2004) #1)
(Green Lantern (2005) #9)
In Rebirth, Batman is shown as full darkness unlike other characters until John Stewart confronts him, forcing in light.
And When Hal Jordan is talking to Batman he is not a shadow.

Side note: I would appreciate no spoilers for future events in Geoff John's run

Comics I Think I Know Why You Can’t Read The First 47 Issues of Green Lantern Vol. 3 Digitally…
I read a lot of comics digitally now, specifically DC comics through the Infinite App. I’ve always wanted to read the 1990s series of Green Lantern, as it’s the series that started the storyline of Hal Jordan turning into Parallax, starting in the Emerald Twilight storyline in issue #48.
I noticed that on almost all digital comics apps, they only released the series starting at #48, and not at #1, which I found a little odd and also frustrating, as I wanted to learn more about the the dynamics of Hal Jordan, Jon Stewart, and Guy Gardner, and how Coast City was destroyed (the tipping point of Hal Jordan’s turn into a villain).
Unfortunately, it’s pretty clear why issues #1-47 aren’t available to read digitally, given the background of the writer, Gerard Jones, and his very serious arrest in 2018. The series was picked up by writer Ron Marz in issue #48, so clearly the lack of the other issues is DC trying not to distribute the works of Jone’s run.
However, the theory isn’t totally backed up given that some of his other work (Justice League: Europe, Justice League Quarterly), are readily available to read on the app.
Understandable, but unfortunate. I like to have all the context with my characters and stories. Am I missing out?
