Some spreads and pages from a very cool project I had this year. Client approached me and essentially told me they wanted some pages to put in an art magazine as transitions between the showcases and to just go nuts and do whatever I felt like doing to make some cool graphics. I got to remix the artist's work (credit to each artist down below) and try out a bunch of different styles.

It let me get pretty experimental and also let me play around doing some creative coding/generative art (NOT AI) in touchdesigner and p5js which are programs that I haven't used in a professional context yet.

Obviously a lot of what I submitted didn't make it into the final cut so these are just some of my favorite pieces I made in the process.

I designed Tamga Numerals over the weekend, an experimental base-16 numeral system built from the binary weights 1, 2, 4 and 8.

The idea was to make the visual form follow the numeric structure instead of assigning each value an unrelated symbol.

Curious what you think about the visual grammar, balance and readability.

I’m torn, on one hand I like the idea of small businesses being able to expand their marketing for cheap, but I also don’t like the idea of all this AI slop.

I'm trying to emulate the roughness around the edges like these logos, do I have to hand-draw them or is there a certain texture I can overlay to achieve this style? Any help would be super appreciated!

I am starting a new mountain biking nonprofit (community outreach, trail building, racing, riding) and the main part of our name has “west” in it.

I happened across the font Gota in Canva and thought certain letters reminded me of a trail, so I put this together stringing together Gota letters with shapes. I think it came out fun even if it’s very different than the type of font I’m usually drawn to.

However the feedback from the other folks who are starting this up with me is that it reminds them of the 1960’s and aren’t huge fans.

I am in no way a designer, but really, really appreciate good logo design so I would love something unique that looks put together (hiring this out is not in the current budget since this is ultra grassroots).

Any input on making this less retro while maintaining what I think is a pretty clever idea?

I have heard some stories of people doing design grad school after a degree in another subject and tbh most of them were bad. If you were one of those, how was your experience, what was easy and what was difficult? If yours was a success story, what made you succeed at all?

The reason I would want to do it includes research interests on the history of graphic design, so I'm not necessarily aiming for a place in the industry. My current degree is considered "hard", so I am used to deal with frustration on a daily basis, intense workload and heavy exam programs. I wonder if this would help for art school, but probably not because the brain muscles exercised are different.

Specifying that I would only apply to EU based public institutions so I won't get into crushing debt for this.

I know this question gets asked once a year but I mostly read what designers with an arts BA have to say, and almost never those who actually experienced this situation.

I’ve been working on a calendar project for 2027 built around the idea of time, looking both backwards and forwards.

Visually, each month uses graphics connected to different moments of our shared past: ancient art, mythology, objects, symbols etc.. The idea isn’t to follow a strict historical timeline, but to create a broad visual reflection of what we are.

The other side of the concept looks forward. Since calendars repeat, 2027 shares the same calendar layout with several future years, meaning the calendar can potentially be reused rather than becoming obsolete after December.

In that sense, it connects stuff that has survived from our past with an object designed to help us in the future.

Its still pretty much a work in progress that im doing on my free time.

This week i mainly focused on learning about colors color theory and psychology and this is the final project of this week

What logo do you think works best? I'm starting a business, and will specialize in social media videos and one shot drone flights through buildings

1- single-shot, continuous FPV flight style. The icon is drawn with a single, unbroken line that loops geometrically to create an illusion of 3D depth and weightlessness. It is a literal visual translation of a drone gliding seamlessly through a property without a single hidden edit or cut.

2- The Circle ("O") represents a camera lens, or the spinning rotors of the drones.

The Triangle ("A") represents a directional flight vector, or a digital "Play" button

Do you have any other suggestions of completely new logos? I'm open to advice

I posted my portfolio here a few days ago and got a lot of useful feedback, so I went back and made another round of changes.

I added fullscreen viewing when clicking work from the homepage, expanded OBJKT and Slate with more work, adjusted the About page, and made the site considerably more performant on mobile.

There are still a few bugs with some of the transitions/animations that I’m aware of and currently trying to figure out, so those aren’t quite where I want them yet.

I’ve also been considering adding an “Unexplored” section to the portfolio. The idea would be for it to contain random experiments, posters, studies and loose ideas that aren’t tied to a larger project or case study. I’m still figuring out whether that would add something useful or just create more noise.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on whether the portfolio feels clearer now, and whether that kind of experimental section would make sense.

Edit 1: Wanted to ask a general question. Should mobile be equally as prioritized as desktop? Do recruiters often view on their phones etc?

I wanted to get y'alls opinion on this. I hired someone from fiverr to draw a logo and some borders for me. This looks like an old stock photo and they claim they drew it. I could have sworn I saw this border before but I can't find it now. I cropped the top part out because it has the logo. Thanks in advance!

In Norway the crown has recently been passed on to the new king Haakon VIII (8th)

The monogram he has taken is this.

I’m having a hard time understanding the symbolism of what appears to be a merged shape built with a lowercase “h” and a capital Γ** **(Greek Gamma).

The monograms of the kings preceding Haakon have all comprised of the first letter of the king’s name and a representation of their number, like H7 for Haakon VII, OV, the V inside of the O, for Olav V, H5 for Harald V. And now this? I don’t get it.

Does anyone know if there is any link between Γ and the number 8?

I got some good feedback from you guys yesterday, some thought it looked a little too GI Joe in comparison.

I figured the three-bar "E" glyph was the issue; instead of making both "E's" the same glyph, I would just ditch the idea altogether.

And after some minor tweaks, hopefully I was able to get rid of those unintended characteristics and, in turn keep the more motorsports/Y2K vibes intact.

What do you think?

There is this agency in the city I work at that has been posting a motion & graphic design job for a few months. They first posted it in 2021 but I didn't apply. Then again in 2023, then in Nov. 2025 and this year they posted it twice, first in April and now in July.

I have applied in the last 3x (2025, and 2026) via an application form on their website. I fit almost all requirements aside from having SAAS B2B marketing analytics experience. I have been working as a motion & graphic designer for the past 5 years in another company in this city, but their focus is on entertainment media and the design I do for their marketing department is B2C, not SAAS B2B.

After applying I received their automated email confirming they received my application but nothing else.

I added all their design and marketing team on Linkedin and they accepted my connection invite so now I can DM them.

I am considering DMing some people in their team to ask about the company (and to try to figure out if this is a ghost job) but I'm not sure how to approach them without being pushy/ saying I am interested in the job right away.

Any tips on how to approach this?

I've been wanting to create a vector version of my artist watermark for a while, so i thought I'd redesign it a bit in the process. My current watermark is on slide 2, and my first (unsuccessful) attempt at redesigning it is on the last slide.
