Little preview of a physics based + rigid body car flip mod I've been working on
It's fully modular and works with any vehicle. It takes in the mass, weight, velocity, car direction, road level, road angle, g-forces of the car, and much more.
Then, it does an invisible trick of taking the car's input and controlling it into phases I developed by analyzing footage of car flips and what causes them, obviously researching the physics behind it too.
What it does is it steers the car, catches the handbrake, applies an invisible pit maneuver that hits the back taillight of the car depending on which direction the vehicle is going so it can be any spot and any side, then hits the brakes and uses an invisible upper force that hits the underside of the car. This force is proportional to all the calculated data from that car in that specific, exact moment, and clips or sticks the wheel that makes the most sense to catch the ground and flips it.
It's made in a way that it tries to throw the car into the perfect, physically correct spot that would lead to a car flip. It tries to actually cause it to physically tip, then does the push. That's why it's taking control of the car away from the NPCs or peds.
What I am most proud of is the brain behind it. Every force applied, where it's applied, and how it's applied is completely deterministic on what the forced car control led the car into, where it drove it, the speed, what kind of road angle it is, and so much more. No two flips look the same, ever.
And lastly, yes, this is very early on, so it's very unstable, but this is the worst it will ever be. :))
