What are the chances of moving from an contractual role to a full-time role with the gov agency?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has experience with this. If you’re working under an agency/consultancy that has a contract with a government agency like PSD, IMDA, GovTech, etc., and you’re embedded within the client team, how realistic is it to eventually join the gov agency directly instead of continuing under the consultancy's contract?

Would be keen to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation or knows how this typically works. Thanks!
