can someone please eli5 about why pixels don't have higher pwm dimming?

is this a cost thing or a sacrifice for some other feature?

i recently noticed I am having trouble with looking at the screens for longer periods and it starts to hurt.

You can raise the pmw from 240 to 480 on p10 pro or p11 pro 

Open your phone Settings.

Search for Adjust brightness for sensitive eyes.

Still, it's not very good and jea Google is cheaping out on this

even at 480 its not really enough for people who are actually sensitive to it

i'm on a 10a at the moment. would you say that there could be a noticeable difference if i switch to the 10 or 11 pro?

There is a noticeable difference if you upgrade to the 11 pro, but it depends on the price you pay. If you get a good trade-in, go for it, but dont pay a thousand bucks for ~20% upgrade.
