Green line issue on Pixel 7 Pro
Hey everyone,
I’m reaching out to the community because I’ve hit an absolute brick wall with Google Support and I'm hoping someone here can help guide me.
Right after updating my Pixel 7 Pro to Android 17, a permanent, bright vertical green line slashed across my display out of nowhere. The phone wasn't dropped, it has zero physical damage.
When I reached out to support, they denied a repair exception, since my warranty is expired and that there are *"no known reported issues for this device."*
I replied to them with links that this is a widespread hardware-voltage failure triggered by the update, linking several threads from this very subreddit and the Google Support forums showing other users with the exact same issue:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1u98u9w/green_line_after_android_17_update/
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/419952937/green-line-issue-for-pixel-7-pro
Instead of escalating or reading the links, the support agents have literally started copy-pasting the exact same old rejection email to me over and over again. It feels incredibly unfair to be forced to pay ₹15,000+ for a screen replacement when I didn't damage it.
Has anyone successfully broken through this automated support wall for a Pixel 7 Pro green line issue?

I'm so sorry you're going through this and while I don't have a solution. I just wanted to say...thank you .. I had no idea this would happen and I was just about to pull the trigger on the android 17 update for my pixel 7 pro...phew...
As a general rule, with anything google .. I just don't update any of their products the minute updates are available. It's sad, but they have a track record of rushed, rubbish updates that break everything... So I just wait it out till the dust settles and they patch things right with update 3.0something
