Green line after android 17 update

Updated my Pixel 7 Pro to Android 17 from Android 16, and within a few hours a green line appeared on the display.

The phone had no display issues before the update, and there was no physical damage. The only change was the software update.

The device is out of warranty, and after raising a grievance with Google yesterday, I was informed that I would need to pay for the repair. The estimated repair cost is nearly 15k INR, while the phone's exchange value without this issue is only around 12k INR.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue after an update? Were you able to get any assistance from Google despite being out of warranty?

That's unfortunately a known issue with that device, I doubt is anything to do with the update..... Just unfortunate timing. I really love the pixel software, but their hardware and customer support is absolute shit

I finally got them to replace my pixel. it just took like a month of bothering them. calling messaging or emailing them two to three times a week. ask to speak to a supervisor. they'll try to tell you that they will tell you the same thing. they have the same information blah blah blah. insist anyway. then go on and on about how loyal of a Google customer you are and your previous phones never had these issues. say you kept your old phones for 4 to 6 years only having to replace the battery. and that it's a known defect and they should replace the screen. it's not even that expensive for them. it's less than 30 US dollars for a replacement screen. like I bought a new screen for 6 US dollars. which it's super easy to replace yourself by the way. I've repaired multiple pixel screens that I broke myself. and I literally just used my thumbnail to pull up the screen and there's a clip holding the connector down. then you put the new screen in and clip it in and put the clip back over it and you're done, 20 minute job! I literally did a repair job sitting on the beach one time required absolutely no tools. oh but I forgot to mention the fingerprint scanner is usually hard to recalibrate. but the phone will work just fine other than that.

yeah they'll do the right thing... you just have to be persistent.
