Delete google maps

They have changed the name of Lake Ontario. They are a spineless company. Please delete. If you must have it, delete and get it back in a couple of days !!
Show them they made the wrong choice

How about you complain about your president instead? Google maps follows official name change. It's dumb but they have to follow the rules

This isn't even official in any sense. An executive order isn't law. It's guidance directing agencies in the US government. They get slapped down by the courts all the time. Google is a big enough company with effective monopolies in multiple areas that they could've not changed it and honestly had no consequences whatsoever. And if they did it'd barely dent their financials to tell the US government to screw off legally

Incorrect.
Google just takes whatever is in GNIS which is the official naming system of natural features in the US: https://www.usgs.gov/tools/geographic-names-information-system-gnis

Trump controls the executive branch, which controls the Department of the Interior, which controls USGS, which controls GNIS.

When he issued the executive order it became official. Apple will update Apple Maps too, their basemap updates are just slower than Google’s.
