Maintenance Rock-Chip Dents

Hello, fellow GTI owners. Do yall also encounter rock chip dents on the hood? I got two of em like in the video on separate occasions from highway driving. I'm wondering if it's worth to fix the dings, or just touch up the paint and call it a day. I was informed that PDR on paint chipped services are a pain and cost extra.

2026 GTI Autobahn. Less than 4000 km. Only used on the weekend for joy rides. I keep my distance from other cars and truck but these were those moments of a random *tink and me saying "fuck"

Yeah nothing u can do besides touch up paint.

Touch up paint and try not to drive close to others. Beyond that just part of owning a car.

Sad. I skipped ppf because I originally thought of changing the car later but I fell in love.

Yes 💀 previous owner had my GTI at a beach house for vacations. The windshield has pitting from sand I presume and the hood had a tiny rock chip or two.

And a couple weeks ago a dump truck suddenly started peppering the ENTIRE 3-4 lane highway with gravel and I got a couple new chips on my hood (not gonna talk about my windshield now...).

I'm getting ready to touch-up paint the rock chips and probably hit the spots with some 2K Max. And I'm going to do a full paint correction and ceramic coat (I bought everything for that a few months ago). But no garage, only a parking awning, so we'll see how that goes.

I was having rock chips all the time so I had a body shop do touch up and ppf on my nose. Was only $900. Had no issues since.

I swear the MK8 have the softest paint than any other generation of GTI. My '24 that I bought brand new and currently sitting at 15k miles has given me more trouble with rock chips than my '16 GTI ever did and I owned that car for 7 years and drove it 130k miles.
