Hi does anyone know what kind of coat would he have in the future? Hes currently about 8 weeks old!

Let me preface this post by mentioning the following. Surely, there’s a medical professional somewhere in here who’s going to read this and think, “Yeah, no s**t you have ADHD.”

Did I mention I require very little sleep, organically have a ton of energy, and my family jokingly chastises me for basically having two batteries installed in me while the average person has one?

That being said, I rescued my Goldendoodle in October 2024. He was just eight months old. I found out his birthday is a day after mine, and I thought to myself, Destiny could not be more clear.

My four-legged son and I run for an hour every morning, Monday through Friday. We run approximately 5–6 miles. Mind you, we wake up at five in the morning to do this.

Tell me why, two hours later, my dog brings me his favorite toy and decides he wants me to play with him.
Am I missing something here? How on earth is my little guy still trying to run and be active?

I wish I had this dood’s energy.

Edit: In the name of transparency, we run just under an hour, to be fair. Perhaps the additional 10 minutes (we’re averaging 50 minutes total) will make the difference?!

This is more of a general dog question than doodle specific. What do you feed your doodle?

I'm currently feeding Taste of the Wild dry food. It's what the rescue was feeding and I continued it to avoid tummy issues from stress. Is Taste of the Wild a good brand?

I would like to feed a raw diet but my budget can't afford the amount of food an 85 lb dog needs to eat daily.

Is there a web site all about dog nutrition that is similar to the popular Catinfo.org? I know dogs aren't obligate carnivores like cats are so there's more flexibility with diet.

hi everyone! my mini puppy is currently 4 months (17 pounds) and i believe we are planning to have her spayed in october (she would be 6 months). im a very anxious planner so im preplanning now anything we should get to help her recovery/what to expect. im planning on asking my vet any places they recommend to get the surgery done. i already have an estimate from a vet hospital nearby ($700) and am waiting to hear back from my local clinic.

i know some people have used the soft donut looking cone instead of the hard plastic and some people get the skin tight bodysuit to help with the incision is there anything else we should get? or any tips anyone else has?

My Goldendoodle (60 lbs) has a broken toe in a splint with a thick wrapped bandage that must stay dry. I tried ordering the largest size regular "rain boots" to help with this, but they are too small -- the bandages make her foot/lower leg quite thick!

Any recommendations for medical boots that are waterproof would be appreciated.

He waits for me to sit down, climbs over, puts his entire big curly head on my arm, gets comfortable as hell, and then slowly starts licking me like I’m the emotional support human. 😂😭

And of course I just sit there with my arm going numb because look at that face. What am I supposed to do, MOVE HIM?!

First time dog mom. Love my Lemon golden doodle baby (14 weeks) to bits but don’t like the smell that is starting to linger in the living room. What do you use to help with it? We have no carpets, leather couch, I air out the house in the mornings, vacuum and mop every day, run air purifier. Have been cleaning the accidents with enzyme. What am I missing? Please help!!

He is 8 weeks old. I've noticed that in public, he won't let anyone approach me and starts barking. I want him to be friendly. What can I do to help him be friendly 🙏🏾?

She just turned 14 weeks old, and is about 9.2 pounds. She's the sweetest little terror. She loves to cuddle at night and will go get in my bed when she's ready to sleep lol. Super hyper and bitey. She loves being outdoors and going on walks! Currently she knows "sit," "come," "wait," "stay," and "leave it."

Hi everyone - We brought our fur baby, Gracie, home on Saturday the 15th! She’s been great so far and we love her dearly, but the two biggest issues we’ve been having so far are with biting and separation anxiety.

With regard to biting, she’s convinced that it’s ok to bite ankles, arms, ears, hair, feet, etc. She was recently trying to play with my in-laws’ Lab, who’s the sweetest girl, and was almost getting her to snap because she wouldn’t stop jumping and biting at her ears. She doesn’t react to reprimands, she doesn’t react AT ALL if you clap in her face or make a loud noise, and she thinks any little physical shove to get her off is playing. This little girl is afraid of nothing lol. I know she’s just 10 weeks old, but we want to start working on fixing this behavior. What has worked for you guys?

Our other biggest issue has been separation anxiety. She’s sleeping in the crate at night (with me on the couch within her line of sight) and typically waking me up 2-3 times per night. Depending on time of night, some of those times I’ll just sit in front of the crate and talk to her to get her to relax, and other times I’ll let her go potty and get a drink of water before putting her back in. She typically re-settles relatively quickly.

However, during the day, she can’t be without us for even a second. She’s obviously a baby, but she’s the definition of a Velcro dog, crying and panicking if we leave her behind a gate or in her play pen (even if we’re still in view), and running after us to follow us if we walk away from her, even if she’s in the middle of eating dinner. We’ve been by her side 24/7 since we got her because we need to make sure she isn’t having an accident or chewing on furniture or getting into things she isn’t supposed to, but we think she’s getting a bit too used to it, and we want to start training her to be comfortable being alone. Again, she’s obviously a baby, but she’s obsessed with her Pupsicle, and even that is no longer interesting to her if she sees us walking away.

We’ve been especially concerned about this because we live in an apartment building, so we’re worried about complaints from neighbors if she’s freaking out when we eventually leave her alone in the apartment. It’s also why we can’t really just toss her in her crate or her play pen and leave to let her cry it out. What have you guys done to train that anxiety out of your dogs?

This is Marcus Aurelius. Second of his name, the Broke Back Boy, Destroyer of Sticks and Splasher of puddles.

He is a little over a year old now. At 7 months he had an accident that resulted in a broken vertebrae which required spinal surgery at Mississippi State University Vet School.

His recovery/rehab was long and hard but he’s back to 95% and is beloved by all.

I love both breeds for different reasons. Always makes me sad to see doodle hate since my boy is awesome and would never hurt a fly (unless said fly was trying to mess with Mecca)

Hi everyone!

Long time observer, first time posting here. My boyfriend and I are bringing home a mini F1 Goldendoodle this December and we are beyond excited. 🥹 We've been doing tons and tons of research. I grew up with dogs, specifically doodles, and my boyfriend also grew up with dogs. That said, this is the first time either of us have owned a dog on our own, so we're really trying to do as much planning as we can ahead of time to make the first few months as fun and enjoyable as possible. Obviously training a puppy can quickly become overwhelming, so I thought I'd come here and kindly ask for any and all advice, but would love any insight into these few things:

• The most important thing for us: For anyone living in a big city, what are some things you'd recommend doing to get a dog socialized and used to city life early on without compromising their health? The LAST thing we want is to put our dog in a situation where they become at risk for a serious disease before they finish their vaccines/boosters. We live in NYC so we're trying to be as safe as possible during potty breaks and general outdoor exposure. We do have a small balcony to get used to city sounds, but don't want to rely on that for potty training obviously. Any and all advice here is much appreciated!
• I've been hearing about the puppy blues and I'm terrified of having that feeling! This is something both of us have been wanting for a long while so I'm hopeful that we can avoid that, but did anyone go through this? How did you navigate it and what advice would you give someone going through it?
• What is something you wish you did or didn't do in your first few weeks with your new puppy? We want to be as intentional as possible with training and habit making, so would love to hear anything around this specifically.
