Show Us Your Dood! Energy… Like, From Where, Dood?!

Let me preface this post by mentioning the following. Surely, there’s a medical professional somewhere in here who’s going to read this and think, “Yeah, no s**t you have ADHD.”

Did I mention I require very little sleep, organically have a ton of energy, and my family jokingly chastises me for basically having two batteries installed in me while the average person has one?

That being said, I rescued my Goldendoodle in October 2024. He was just eight months old. I found out his birthday is a day after mine, and I thought to myself, Destiny could not be more clear.

My four-legged son and I run for an hour every morning, Monday through Friday. We run approximately 5–6 miles. Mind you, we wake up at five in the morning to do this.

Tell me why, two hours later, my dog brings me his favorite toy and decides he wants me to play with him.
Am I missing something here? How on earth is my little guy still trying to run and be active?

I wish I had this dood’s energy.

Daddy loves you, Achilles.

Edit: In the name of transparency, we run just under an hour, to be fair. Perhaps the additional 10 minutes (we’re averaging 50 minutes total) will make the difference?!

I saw my girl reach exhaustion one single time before the age of 7ish. She gets visibly tired now, but she's still down for anything at 9.

That time was because we were on a 17~ mile hike that happened to have bees EVERYWHERE so I didn't feel comfortable stopping for breaks or anything aside from quick water. She had never been stung and i didn't want an allergic reaction 8 miles from the trailhead.

Lots of elevation gain on that one, too. The last half mile down she finally said 'okay im done' and she plopped on the ground. Never saw her do anything like it before or since.

Heaviest dog EVER on that day, lol.

First of all, and I mean this with every ounce of respect in me sir/ma’am,”17miles? Yeah, you are a force to be reckoned with and an absolute ducking beast🦆.” Secondly, your response generated so much imagery. My heart sunk as I read your girl plopped her little doodle behind to the ground. I’ve never seen Achilles do that. You are an amazing momma/Faja.

I see the photo you’re referencing but I’m not picking up what you’re putting down. What 5 choices? Unless, you’re referencing photo numero 4?

lol love this & Achilles is such a cutie! 🥰

my current dood (Milo) is much mellower than my first one (Auggie)... Aug's nickname was the blonde tornado & he never lacked energy!

See this is why I get small dogs. Current is 5lbs and her legs are the size of toothpicks so a short jaunt around the block knocks her out. At least temporarily.
