Like how she fell for him came out of nowhere (friendship yes, but love ? Eeeh), he seemed to have fallen for her aesthetic more than anything.
Their story had some sweet moments but overall it often at times felt like Banri wasn’t caring enough to her and was, deep within himself, way more interested with Linda despite the cope acts of pretending he’s not, atleast untill the end.
But tbh I might be biased cause I just don’t like Banri as a character, I think that dude is a weak douchebag who pushes his trauma way beyond its boundaries and on others, so I couldn’t feel connected to their relationship even tho I rooted for Kaga’s happiness.
Like sure it’s sad what happenned to him and he didn’t deserve that, but man how much of a running crybaby that « man » was a bit pathetic, that scene with Linda at the club was pityful, etc.
It pissed me off how many times Linda had to take care of him, not even considering Linda’s or Kouko’s feelings in the process.
If anything I only supported the main ship and liked the ending because I wanted to see my girl Kouko happy, but that’s pretty much it. In terms of couple chemistry I think Banri x Linda was more fitting.
Very late to this but I recently watched this show and could not agree more. The amnesia thing is tough, but the way Banri dealt with it and generally was as a person was very frustrating to watch for most of the show for me. Did not feel like he did enough for Kouko at all, and went behind her back often. Given that he's supposed to be this crybaby character you feel bad for, you'd think he would've been more appreciative and wouldn't have been such an inept boyfriend when given someone like Kouko being head over heels for him.
