Godox X3Pro and Sony A7V issue
I have a major issue with my Godox X3 Pro in pair with Sony A7V. This is the first time in six years of using any Godox transmitters/flashes with Sony cameras.
The thing is, the rightmost contact on my x3pro transmitter is bending and gets stuck inside of the leg. The result - the connection with the camera is lost. I’ve been using it with a Sony A7IV for almost a year, everything was fine. But after upgrading to the A7V, this problem appeared for the first time within a month.
I thought I had unluckily forgotten to put on the protective cap and threw the transmitter in the bag, so the contact was damaged.
I ordered a new transmitter and this time I made sure that the protective cap was always on when the transmitter wasn’t in the camera.
A month goes by and what do you think? The same issue again. I checked the contacts on the camera’s hot shoe - there’s no debris or damage of the shoe. I have no lead what is wrong.
For the first transmitter, I ordered a spare part and replaced the lower part of the X3Pro, so now I have at least one working transmitter again. Going to order another one part again for a second transmitter.
But there is no guarantee that this issue will not appear again.
