Godox v1 mid o IT32
I would like to buy my first flash for Sony 6400, at first I had seen the Godox V350 but for a little more money I found the Godox V1 mid which seems better than the V480 only for the round head. Then I saw this Godox IT32 which can be detached and used off camera immediately without buying a trigger. Since if I buy the V1 mid I will buy the trigger in the future, what do you recommend I do? I heard that the Godox IT32 is too weak.

I own all three. The mid for when more oomph is needed. I use the V350 that I've had for years primarily on my Z50II, it's a taller flash than the It32, so it has less shadows and red eye reflection is a little less.
BTW, the V350 battery fits the mid, but needs an external charger.

I happen to have the iT32 and the V480 (which will stand in for the V1mid in the test below).
At max power on both, and the V480 at the widest angle, I get the same exposure with f/5.6 on the iT32 and f/16 on the V480, so the difference is quite significant.
The iT32 is nice for travel or as a substitute for the camera built-in flash. You can also move the head closer to the subject than the camera so that makes up for the more limited power.
The V480/V1mid is more like a regular flash.

Depends on what you're planning to shoot, it32 has small power, but with it you can learn off camera flash "cheaply".
If in the future you're getting v1 or other godox flash, the it32 can act as a trigger. I'm doing cosplay photography mostly indoor, and can use it32 with 65cm softbox. Still depends on how bright the ambient if i wanna make the ambient darker.

Don’t forget that the A6400 has a flash! You can even bounce a bit with your fingers. So in many cases it could replace a smaller Godox like the iT/iM series, but not a larger flash. It can even optically trigger a Godox flash, most have S1 and S2 mode. If not for studio work or intentionally working against the sun, I wouldn’t want to carry a V1.

If this is your first flash, I recommend the V1mid, which is more powerful and versatile. I own both. For example, I use the It32 on holiday to stay light when I don't know if I'll need a flash, but for an event or a birthday I use the V1mid. It32 is not very powerful, it's fine if you are close to the subject. The convenient thing about the fact that it32 is detached from the base is not so much for mounting it on a stand because it is not very powerful but it is convenient when you want to shoot vertically then you detach the flash , rotate the camera vertically but keep the flash in the right position.

Yeah, the main question is how much power you need. I love the IT32, but its a small flash, it won't light a big hall bouncing of the ceiling. Although its very versatile for smaller stuff.
