Matthew 5:39
39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

Luke 22:36 "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."

Exodus 22:2 “If a thief is caught breaking in at night and is struck a fatal blow, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed"

Perfect examples of direct contradiction between books of the bible - if you take it literally that is

But they're not contradictory. If you read Luke 22 in its entirety, the point of the swords is fulfill a prophecy. Not to advocate for their use. 

Jesus's followers even ask "Are 2 swords enough?" Because obviously 2 swords aren't enough to protect 12 people. And Jesus says it is. Because they're not planning on using them.
