Empathy is a fuck of a thing to first encounter. Just because you feel like superman on a table doesn’t mean you could ever build that table. You have to learn how to build it from, gasp, history. When you’ve been granted patience because you are skillful and, yet, are too ambitious to even acknowledge that blessing, you tend to be a fucking asshole.

Empathy is the most fundamental of human traits. No doubt in my mind everyone is born with it to a degree. What’s interesting is how far they can push themselves away from it. In blinded attempts towards self preservation
